Why? Zero experience is a major concern. Compared with someone who has domestic,European and International experience. Would love Vieira to be a top manager for us but it just doesn't feel right. Another huge gamble when we have so many proven managers out there willing to take the job. KK had zero experience, hell he hadn't even coached reserves before. Take a chance on Vierra over the known crap factor of McLaren or Charver any day of the week. Huge difference being that KK had the license to sign who he wanted without restriction. Getting a manager who has no experience and not allowing him to sign his preferred players is a huge gamble. Why take that risk when you have better, proven managers available? Absolutely no need for us to be taking a gamble on an unproven manager. Not in the early days he didn't - the only signings he brought in the summer before we pissed the old 1st Division were Bracewell, Beresford and Venison for around a combined 1 million - the big signings didn't start coming until after he had proved he could do the job.

Leaked from the Man City end according to Ryder.

The talks will probably last right up until the moment they tell him about his new assistant. http://kureen.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/John-Carver.jpg

Apparently he's done a decent job with Man City's "Elite Development Squad" but I imagine they probably have far more/better players than the teams they're competing against so I'm not sure how impressive that is.

No idea where the Vieira stories have come from but it's obviously attracted some money: http://news.ladbrokes.com/football/premier-league/arsenal-legend-joins-mcclaren-newcastle-job-contention.html?

Apparently these arrests are related to the awarding of the 2010 World Cup, they're still looking into 2018 and 2022: http://www.football365.com/news/21554/9866259/FIFA-s-Foes-Come-Arrests-Made-In-Zurich

I genuinely think the job was basically his before the disastrous run, but surely, surely they can't give it to him now??

Truly unbelieveable revisionism. It's like kicking someone half to death then claiming credit for calling the ambulance.

It's almost like he's doing it on purpose...

Absolutely fucking brilliant today, man of the match by a mile. Have such massive respect for the man, genuine hero.

The lad on skunkers who always gets the team news spot on reckons its: Krul Janmatt Colo Willo Dummett Jonas Anita Colback Sissoko Rivière Cisse

Very outspoken about Ashley there, can still hear the passion in his voice, would kill to get him back here.
-
Don't really feel nervous like I thought I might - just the same sense of weary resignation that has been the last few seasons.

But, but, there's no way Hull will beat Man Utd.....
-
A long shopping list of things he considered doing but then went with the tried and tested "fuck all" option.

Cheeky bastard http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/11624821/Alan-Pardew-criticises-Newcastle-transfer-policy.html

Think he just needs proper motivating tbh - under a manager like Keegan he would be an absolute beast.
-
They just need to turn up with 11 players to beat us. Seriously reckon me and my mates could give this NUFC side a good run for their money.
-
The "now or never" aspect would likely be about our willingness to pay compensation, if he resigns first then it changes the formula significantly.
-
It's basically the odds on Hull beating Man Utd, seems about right.
-
Not really - both the balls and ability questions have been emphatically answered over the last 10 games.
