  1. If you saw the bournemouth videos he chopped and changed the orange and white teams. So there's nothing to read into which coloured vest some one is wearing.
  2. Everyone in the squad deserves their chance, and he could come on near the end if the wheels or namely legs come off - as this will be the first major test of their fitness.
  3. Well all I can say is that they are a well weird lot down there, as I thought I'd try to find a forum and see what their thoughts were for the game. I found this site (very nice countdown clock btw) - but nothing that I could see to do with the game, there was a post from someone in Newcastle wishing them well etc and getting abuse about the take over, to which he replied with a nice come back. https://griffinpark.org/index.php So someone 'asked' "Shame on your club for the takeover." He replied - "I could argue with you all day with the morals of this take over thing , we had an owner who assist stripped our club for 14 years , if you don’t like what the saudies do , will you be blacklisting the World Cup because Qatar human records are just as bad if not worse than the saudies , will you stop using BP garages stop your kids watching Disney, will you stop using Facebook , blacklist the boxing and the F1 Or is it just the NUFC takeover that bothers you , Hand on heart would you turn down someone taking over your club with at least £325 billion to spend , we are football fans and not into politics." That got quite a few likes. Anyway nothing on the game, how they think they will do or the like, so I have no ideas as to what they are expecting, apart from there is a 'Phase 4 Point Prediction' in which they try to predict how the following months results will go. So you can chose from 0 points to 12 or 15 depending on the number of games, those that replied think they will either draw or win, with a few stating a loss. Hope the few are right.
  4. Yes, I just took a few to show the variants - but there were lots - you know the picture - that one of blue and pink. The odds seemed very varied. I'd provide a screen shot or a link - but my PC (Works one) blocks access to betting websites.
  5. Looking at an odds checker, it's looking that things are slightly in Brentford's favour at present - Newcastle Draw Brentford 33/20 1.65 12/5 2.40 7/4 1.75 13/8 1.63 47/20 2.35 17/10 1.70 8/5 1.60 23/10 2.30 13/8 1.63 But this is only an indication of where the money is being placed - still going to be a home win - COME ON !!!!
  6. WTF - "Slightly" drop off - that's like saying the titanic hit a small lump of ice, or Mount Everest is a hill in the Himalayas. - slight over / under exaggeration as to how fucking fat and slow they have all become. FFS - At least we are seeing and (hopefully) they are feeling the benefits of this new regime.
  7. Read with interest, then came across the dreaded word 'crypto currency' - fuck that for a game of soldiers - never touched them and (fingers crossed) never will. If we go down this road - what actual 'influence' do you think we would have, probably not a lot apart from changing the music for when we score a goal (when we score - no playing writes for that composer).
  8. Caption time - JT (Shouts out loudly in no specific direction) - 'I'm coming for you boy.' ASM (Not making eye contact) - Says to himself - 'If I slowly walk away in this direction he'll go for someone else'
  9. How many people a couple of years ago would have said that Luke Shaw would be a regular in the England team ? Just look at the difference a change of manager has done for his confidence and that's all it is - confidence - get behind the team, players and manager - that's all that's needed - the rest is down to them.
  10. OK, if these are the badges previously used - then my thoughts are - 1. Well too over dramatic, and no reference to the team name. 2. Looks good, but slightly on the 'basic side'. 3. Looks like it something a bunch of monkeys would have come up with. 4. Nice, stylish and to the point. If there were any 'redesign' to be done - would be a cross between 1 and 4, where you'd have more detailed 'horses' on each side, with a more 'elegant, but readable' team name. But if we were to stay with one - then it's no 4 for me.
  11. You always want to look at the fringe players, that before others joined, or themselves were good at other clubs are now subs etc. but also Ross Barkley for me. Plus any from this list that take your fancy - https://www.premierleague.com/news/2247219 Interesting to note the HGP (Home Grown Player) rule
  12. Agreed. To me the reason the big 6 have big deals is that those sponsors are global, and as those teams are in europe then that advertising works, there's no point being in europe and then having a sponsor of 'Mick's fish and chip shop' from down the road, and being an international company, then it's just peanuts in their global advertising budget to have a sponsorship deal of that size. One of the first things, as a club, we should then be trying to do is to get into any european comp, to enhance our presence, also as well, now we have new owners is to expand our support base, perhaps go to some of these pre-season far flung trips. Then, and perhaps only then, we will be able to get a really good sponsorship deal.
  13. Just seen this article on the BBC - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59213173 Just a general question - Under the old managers how did the team get to far flung places like Southampton, Cardiff etc. I remember see a coach at Wigan when Pardew was manager. and how do the team currently get to games - eg Brighton last week ? And do you think for the longer trawls - Norwich, Southampton, or those that involve a long coach trip (namely all of them apart from Leeds), do you think the new owners will indulge in flying ? or will it be travelling on the day or day before ?
  14. Taken it - ÂŁ2 at 100/1 top 6 finish - well it's free money. nothing ventured - nothing gained - nor lost as it's a free bet.
  15. ok, betting people - what you would think of our chances of getting into the top 6 by the end of the season ? Have a free bet - and noticed that on some sites you can get 28/1 to finish in the top half - but my page is showing 100/1 top 6 ?
  16. The more I hear about Howe, the more excited I get, the more I feel that we are going to be let down big time. But in checking their results - they are on a 4 premiership game losing streak - which means they probably are lacking confidence. Then in typing this, it makes me feel like it going to be a first win for us. So I'm going with 3-1, after going 1 down soon into the game. But what will be will be. Damn, it's along time til next Saturday afternoon - roughly - 8 Days, 22 hours, 45 odd minutes. That's 214 hours or 12888 minutes, or 773,233 seconds - at the time of typing.
  17. It going to be interesting as the first game is against Brighton, and apart from some slack defending on Liverpool's front or was it slack finishing, and then some slack defending on theirs, they Brighton would be on a 2 game winning streak. Put that up against a 5 game losing streak - and it has away win all over it. 1-3 BHA
  18. Have to laugh, in the express last Saturday, there was a story in the 'Ahead of the Game' section, on how Sky have missed to the 'boat' to say on not being able to broadcast the first game in charge of Conte at Spurs. This was because of the fixtures being done in advance. It then went on to say that this is the second time it has happened in the they missed Ronaldo's first game for Man Utd. Now they'll miss Eddie's first game against Brentford. It now looks like they'll miss Gerrards game at Liverpool. Hopefully they'll also miss the new manager at Norwich as well. And also, as they have the scottish league - the first game of the new Rangers manager. It wouldn't surprise me that they write something into their contract next time saying 'if you sack your manager you can't appoint anyone until the start of the next TV games window'.
  19. I hope Villa sink like the fucking Titanic, a long and slow tormenting departure from this league.
  20. Does anyone remember going to this game - My house, at the time, was about 1 mile away from the ground and I could here the cheers (from the Alex fans) as when the goals went in. Must have been crazy in that away end, like sardines in a tin. This was the 2nd leg, we won/lost 1-0. Didn't actually go as it was a long drive on a tuesday night - and I had a banger of a car at the time.
  21. To be honest I do care that we are associated with this type of 'badness'. I use the word 'badness' as there are a lot of companies / countries out there that 'preach' on one hand, yet on the other they aren't doing what you would call the common 'good'. This common good covers all aspects of life, the universe and everything. For an example, I work for a company, as part of Covid we've not been allowed into our site offices, so working from home, as the restrictions have been lifted an office or two has come open. I has to go to one the other week, and when I went in, half the site had been cleared ( it must be said at this point that I didn't visit this site often). I asked someone, where all that stuff gone ? they replied, 'Oh, they've shipped all to xxxx (won't say where as thinking this might get me in the shit)'. Why ? 'Oh what they are making doesn't comply with some EU regulations so they've moved the manufacturing elsewhere' So my company has knowing moved manufacturing of something elsewhere because it would likely cost to much to move to a cleaner product - so instead they moved to somewhere where there weren't the same regulations. So you can imagine that for all of the 'owners' of all of the (top) football clubs around the world - how many of them have 'clean fingers' - I would say none of them. Only those that are owned by trusts etc will probably have a 'cleaner' bill of health, but then that may not be any fault of their own - ie - having a bank account with a bank that has ties to laundering. How far do you take this ? At the end of the day, all you, we, can do is press these owners through actions - don't buy their food, oil, gas etc - then changes will happen. As an actual point - in Afghanistan, thousands are dying - but no aid being sent - because the rulers are discriminating against women, children etc, I know it's hard to watch and understand, but I do agree with these actions - there is no place in the world for rules from a bygone era being in place in todays world.
  22. There are probably 'millions' of webpages currently doing the rounds, but this one is of slight interest to this thread - as I tried to find out what 'system' Eddie 'normally' uses. https://thefalse9.com/2021/11/newcastles-predicted-4-4-2-formation-if-eddie-howe-is-appointed-as-manager.html
  23. Yes, but looking at it the ball originally went across and was then brought back to the middle - but I take that, yes, this was down the middle. I think what we saying is a type of goal that breaks from our half - and then results in a goal from 'down the middle'. They I feel are few and far between.
  24. Yes, as I saw a you tube clip of some training, and there was the impression of 'crossing' over as you describe, I think this something that has been lacking in recent 'years'. As for when you read or hear how we score (when we do) a goal, it always seems to me that the play has been down either wing, or from a set piece. Does anyone know the last time we scored when the play when 'down the middle' ? (In advance of replies pointing out the error of that statement - I stand corrected).
  25. I've had it on good authority that (like a lot of these so called managers) he only went up there ( to Rangers ) to boost his ego. Apparently his wife still lives in Liverpool, so not made the effort to move. Perhaps this could be to do with the fact that I believe that they are both Catholic's and every week (when playing at home at least) the Rangers fans sing anti catholic songs. Would you have taken the position in the first place ? if being of a religious nature ? TBH, with all that has been said and done, and with regard to our managers position and all of the hype that was generate by it, I hope it all goes pear shaped and they get relegated (for all of the 'managers' that took a look and then said 'No' - Wankers the lot of them).
