FA Cup 3rd Round Draw: Cambridge United (H)
South-Cheshire-Toon replied to nufcjb's topic in Football
This is confirmed, the 3rd round draw will be done BEFORE the Boreham Wood versus St Alban's City game on the evening of Monday 6th, as normally it's done after this game (the last one of the round). Draw is on ITV4. @ 19:00 -
FA Cup 3rd Round Draw: Cambridge United (H)

Believe the draw is going to be done BEFORE the Gateshead game - from listening to the ITV racing team - they were plugging it last weekend. -
Yes, I happy with what I saw, given that all of the 'press' were saying that 'he's lost his confidence' - well 15 minutes in - he looked like he'd never been away.
-
it probably was what was being seen on the training ground - if you all look the same then why change it - now Eddie's had a chance to see him in action I hope he sticks with him.

Sorry - get an error message when trying to open - but I think I get the gist of what the thread would be. -
OK, just over 4 hours to go until the team news is released - anyone with any words of wisdom. On the formation front - I saw Eddie's masterclass against Chelsea (Bournemouth won 3-0) - and he seems to go with a 4-3-3, but I'd more leaning to a 4-1-3-2 or 4-1-2-3, with the likes of shelvey being the 1 and dropping back to make a 5, then there wouldn't be some much room at the back.

Slightly off topic, but I got the impression that Fat Twat wanted to have the LOWEST BMI reading of all of the squad, but in now seeing Howie doing his training with the squad - it's HIM (Howie) that wants to have the HIGHEST BMI reading. -

Aye, but that was for EVERY training session - LOL. -
Agreed, I'm totally bricking it, was happy last night as Derby lost, got up this morning, had to go to the dentist and on the drive there (30 mins) became a bag of nerves just thinking about tonight. Can't imagine what others are going through. I'd imagine that for the players/staff - they've been there before so shouldn't be a worry for them. Christ - even typing this is making my stomach turn. It's like one of those sci-fi movies, when they send a rocket up to destroy an asteroid or the like, the missiles in the air - we now just have to wait until 21:20 or thereabouts to see if it's hit. Hopefully we'll know long before then that it's on target to be destroyed. Am predicting a 3-1 home win.

Nothing on the NUFC website ?

Agreed, but disagree - as from what we are seeing and, in the brentford game - seen - most of the players (bar one or two) are playing in their 'best' position, and haven't been at full match fitness. I remember seeing one of the earlier games on TV and thinking Joel looked a bit 'poddgy' - now he's looking a whole lot better. Nothing more needs to be said. -
Whole heartedly agree with this, but what pissing me off is all of the doom merchants out there - stating that after just one game - 'We're doomed' - Fucking arseholes the lot of them, both on this forum, and on the web. I know one swallow doesn't make a summer, but by the same reckoning, 1 fucking rain drop doesn't mean there's going to be a fucking flood and you need to man the Ark, nor does it mean 1 snow flake and there's going to be an ice fucking age. What's with these idiots ? Just look at the stats for the games this season - team - % pos shots target goals whu - 46 17 3 2 villa - 47 10 2 0 efl - burn 54 18 3 0 south 36 10 5 2 mnu 36 12 3 1 leeds 35 17 7 1 watford 48 20 6 1 wolves 48 8 2 1 spurs 35 7 1 2 - End of fatty twats reign. cry 25 6 2 1 chelsea 21 6 1 0 bri 34 6 1 1 brent 52 23 9 3 There's been a marked improvement, so highest % poss, most shots on, most on target, and most goals, (excluding the burnley game as this was in the efl cup), and as I see it things can only improve. We are not even a quarter of the way into the season and people are saying 'That's it' - For fuck sake, there's a shed load of games to go, some we'll win (starting this saturday), and some we'll lose - but I have every confidence we'll stay up, and if we went down, Eddie would still remain at the helm and we'll be straight back up, but I don't think it will come to that. Keeping it black and white.

Just checked - 1/2 Arsenal 4/1 Draw 31/5 Newcastle 3-1 to the toon - 80/1 - I'm going to keep doing this - all season - one's got to come up - and good return for only Ā£1.
-
Ask Eddie - How ? - He has 5 days to get these lazy "defenders" playing better and then we'll have a fighting chance.

As per my other post in the relegation thread, ""Only seen highlights, but from what I've seen and looking at the stats, seems to be a world away from the previous game. Which to me can only be a good thing. Like people have said, he's only had a week or two with the lads, get miggy up to speed, tighten up at the back and things will start to look brighter. After the arseholes performance last night, they were dire, - even a win might be on the cards next Saturday. I'm going to have 3-1 for every remaining game - ones got to come in eventually. Still keeping the faith - believe in Eddie."" Am going for US to win at 3-1, just checked and odds are about 90-1 or the like. Worth one pound of anyone's money. Ever the optamist.

This from the BBC - Last little snippet from Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Joelinton: "I think he can be a huge player for us." "From what I've seen in training he's a technical player with very good feet and he's intelligent. Unlocking that talent and ability are things I'm going to make assessments on but he's got a big part in our future here." The thing is that we've only seen some of these players under brucey - and we all know about his training thoughts etc etc, So now that Eddie has had some time to get them into some sort of shape (and things will only improve from here as the training regime kicks in) - it is him and the training staff that are starting to see the better side of people - the hope is that this 'improvement' will be seen on the pitch. Can't wait until tomorrow - and have had a bet 3-1 to the Toon, Ā£5 at 20-1. - COME FUCKING ON !!!!!!!!! -
If you could add 3 past-NUFC players to the current team...
South-Cheshire-Toon replied to Big River's topic in Football
Should have been 4 people, and state - GK, D, M, A. 1 of each. And this way I would add Colo to the list above. So - Given, Colo, Cabaye, Shearer. -
Here's the BBC take on things - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59330514 But he's still a lying scouse bastard - he knows what he wants to do - just got to make Villa looks good and in a 2 to 4 years time - the pool job will come along.
