Sissoko is simply not a holding midfielder. Nor is he a RM, as Pardew believes. He is a CM, plain and simple.

We didn't look likely to win at any point in the match.

So Pardew should be criticised for having no part in the loan signing of a mercenary who turned us down for more money last season and appears still to be unable to do 90 mins 2months into the season? He deserves a hammering for numerous things but this isn't one of them. It's Ashley that's killing the club, not Pardew. This thread is ridiculous. You're all mad. I'm so sick of reading this s*** now like, do some f***ing reading, man. Every single person slagging Pardew in this thread knows that Ashley is the main person responsible for the state of NUFC, that doesn't absolve Pardew of all blame. For f***s sake man. And that sums up this thread entirely, being fully conscious that slagging Pardew is missing the point by a country mile yet still doing it This is the dictionary definition of madness. You're all batchy. You do understand the concept of mutual exclusivity and that it doesn't apply here, right? Pardew doesn't get a free pass just because Ashley is also a dipshit.

Dropping out of the league cup will have zero effect on Ashley. He doesn't want us competing for the cups in the first place.

Not worthy of a thread - 2018 FIFA World Cup edition

Terrible idea. The slots allotted each region need to be re-distributed, but that's about it. -
All things considered, keeping this club in the PL is quite an achievement.

like Whelan would allow Ashley to nab his manager he hates him Don't think Whelan would've had much say.

Agudelo with some nifty give-n-go footwork and finish to push New England into the playoffs. Probably the only sports team from New England I don't despise.

True, I didn't see our supporters throw a single punch at a male steward, let alone a female one.

Classic one-upmanship.

Agree. I reckon we should keep him as he's doing such a mint job. Let's not replace him, his team is doing well so let's give him more time to move the club forward. Good post mate mate. Keep him, sack him, doesn't really matter. Class condescending post though. Cheers. 'We might appoint someone worse' is the single worst argument I've ever heard for keeping him in a job. If the only redeeming feature of his tenure is that he may be slightly better than his possible replacement then we're in big fucking trouble. Your posts are fucking laughable tbh given our situation. Your head is so far up your own arsehole you can see 2015.

As if it would make a blind bit of difference when the one in charge of it all is a clueless, gutless coward. Doesn't seem like there's anyone willing to seriously confront Pardew though. Players have no one to look to for guidance or leadership outside the manager, which is a problem.

Wait....what? Good catch.

They've been awful. De Rosario is finished, Pontius and DeLeon have done nothing this season, their defense is terrible, they lack a CM, and they haven't had a true striker since Luciano Emilio. Winning the U.S. Open Cup is a small (and miraculous) consolation. Ownership is sticking by Olsen, but you can't have much worse of a season than he's had this year. Good news is, they've got some good young players to build around. Luis Silva, Jared Jeffrey, Collin Martin, and Conor Doyle (if they can sign him on a full transfer from Derby County). Along with Kitchen, Kemp, and DeLeon. They could use a good veteran player like Jermaine Jones if he makes the jump. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how keen he is on living in D.C. or if they can afford him.

Who goes down instead though? Not exactly a race to the bottom at this point.

Gouffran Remy Ben Arfa Cabaye Sissoko Anita/Tiote Six of one, half dozen of the other. Their roles don't change.

Gouffran Remy Ben Arfa Cabaye Sissoko Anita/Tiote It's really that simple.

He's been played out on the right the majority of the time under Pardew. He'll have an unreal game one week and totally disappear the next. He's not nearly as good as he's given credit for. Still, at least we have a chance of a decent performance from him at RW. Hopeless when played centrally or out left.

Would we have paid the going rate for those players? Certainly not for Downing or Carroll (pre-West Ham) and I don't think we'd have dropped the 12mil on Sturridge either. Clyne I'll grant you, as we were damn close a couple seasons ago apparently. Perhaps Lallana after the 11/12 season and Shawcross back in 07/08. No guarantee they'd have turned out as well as they did though.
