  1. With those stats it wouldn't matter if opposing defences all found him hilarious. Still a far cry from the 37 they had from RVP last season. They've done well to spread-out the goal-scoring this year, with Giroud, Podolski, Walcott and Cazorla all hitting double-digits. But while ManU has RVP, Rooney, Hernandez and City has Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko in addition to their attacking midfielders and wingers, Arsenal has Giroud up top and that's about it. Nobody said he was RVP. But the adoration certain players at this club without ever getting near to such impressive stats should remind folk to think twice. Such as...? Legitimate question. I don't think there are many here who wouldn't take Giroud in this side.
  2. Of course, but it's pretty cut-n-dry that Giroud is not nearly as talented as Robin van Persie.
  3. Arsenal gotta be in consideration now.

  5. This might be the only instance of banana-throwing in football history that was entirely non-racist in nature.
  6. He was never going to be RVP 2.0, obviously. And with 14 goals and 10 assists this year, he's still done very well. But he's just not that guy to really strike much fear into opposing defenses. As been said, he may grow into the role.
  7. Wenger's been let down by a number of his players, but remains loyal to them. Drastic action may cause more damage than good. Ge that lots of new players or new manager A core of Arteta-Wilshere-Cazorla is very strong. Ramsey is well out of his league in that side. Giroud's alright, Podolski's good enough, and Walcott is...Walcott. They could really use a top striker and a whole new backline though.
  8. I'm just not sure it's the end of the world losing to Spurs this season. Even for Arsenal. They're a tough team with the most in-form player in the league.
  9. Conversely, perhaps Spurs just have a very good team this year? (hint, they do).
  10. Nah, our summer this year is scheduled for a Thursday, doubt we'll be playing that day.
  11. Well yeah, but that's what happens when everyone hates Pardew.
  12. You lot would've hosted a smashing tournament. Long overdue to have it in Britain. Infrastructure is already there too. WC games at SJP (of course, knowing FIFA, they'd probably insist every game be held in London).
  13. Dropping Jonas, swinging Sissoko out to the right and bringing on Marveaux to play behind Cisse would've been a smart move.
  14. Our corners strategy needs to involve firing the ball straight into a melee of players. Pure chaos and anarchy in the box, sure to be a better plan than hoofing it at the CB backpost.

SKC tops Union 3-1 in the opening game of the season. But those black Union kits

That is the big drawback. They make the far-flung Russian teams travel to Moscow for European games don't they? Suppose something similar could be worked out.

Mexican teams already play in the Copa I believe, so the precedent's there. Granted, MLS teams have to first prove they can consistently beat Mexican clubs...

Thing is, we've got buckets of money. And the league is extraordinarily well-managed. I'd say MLS is currently on par with the Danish or Austrian leagues in terms of quality. Which is rather impressive considering the league's only been around for 20 years. The one thing we couldn't offer is a high-quality regional tournament. Can't imagine the CONCACAF Champions League will ever be an illustrious competition. Now, if they were to combine it with the Copa Libertadores...

MLS had a higher average attendance record than the NBA last season. And it's the 2nd most popular sport among young people (18-25 year olds I think).

Orlando, 2015. Would be a good shout. Though I have a feeling Garber and Co. will do all they can to get Cosmos up first.
  21. Nasri might be on his way to PSG.
  22. Would be nice to get a real player on the right side.
