  1. I see Sissoko as that workhorse guy who just never seems to tire over the course of the match. And when the opposition defense starts to wear down, Sissoko moves up and crushes them. Ala Yaya.
  2. Might as well just take the French national team's kit and slap our logo on it. It's one of the nicest kits anyway.

  5. For all his faults, Ashley is a shrewd businessman. And he's done a downright fantastic bit of business this week. Getting as many players as we have for that price. Unfortunate as it is, Ashley's looking at a big fat cheque when he inevitably decides to flip some of these guys. Unless they completely shit the bed in the PL, Sissoko and Yanga-Mbiwa especially are sure to be in hot demand in the next few years.
  6. Marveaux operates much the same way as HBA in that he consistently cuts in from the outside. We can put him out there, but we all know he'll just be a "winger-in-name-only." Our wide forwards are meant to collapse to allow the fullbacks space to get forward anyway. I'm just not sure replacing Marveaux with Gouffran out wide will produce any drastic changes in what we're expecting from that position. Unless we're expecting Cisse to get 20 goals between now and May we need another proper forward in the team, not a midfielder badly out of position. He was a "second half player" last season...
  7. Jesus. What is happening at this club.
  8. Whats his positional and tactical sense like? - for example I think Cabs is very positionally and tactically astute and always seems aware of where he should be I'll wait for Mole to pick-up this one, he seems to have the lowdown on Sissoko.

  10. Tbf, we've kinda set ourselves up for that. Our wingers aren't really tasked with being goalscorers, save HBA and Marv's dashing runs into the box from 30 yards. Cisse is the tip of the spear, essentially, when he should be the tip of the trident. I'm not sure Gouffran, agreeing with you that he's a goalscorer unlike Marv, would be counted on to get goals when he's played out wide the way Cisse is.
  11. Not sure there are enough goals there. It's pretty clear Only one player in the team consistently capable of getting double figures there. I don't think Marveaux is a wide man either. Not really. Considering our options, that's not gonna change no matter who you put there. Switch Marveaux for Gouffran and it doesn't change a whole heck of a lot. Unless you'd rather have Shola...
  12. Sissoko. I think he can become the most important player on the pitch for us, ala Yaya.
  13. Not sure there are enough goals there.

  15. You'll get used to footballers being younger than you, don't worry. I've been dreading it for years. Yeah it's an odd sensation. More so for the NFL, when I realized the guys coming out for the draft last year would've graduated high school with me.

  17. Of course it's hard considering the changing nature of the midfield roles, but Anita and Perch need to be higher on the strict DM list.
  18. I'd say all but Bigi. I think we could still use him here as cover.
  19. One thing we can say now is that the allure of Premier League wages means that every player on every team in Ligue 1 other than PSG is someone that can be acquired by Premier League teams. This combined with the new tax policies coming down the pipeline mean dark times ahead for football in France. I'm not shocked that we got him from a French club, I'm shocked that we got him in front of everybody else. There are at least half-a-dozen clubs with more money than us who could have used him. Agreed. But tbh, Spurs are knocking on the door of the Big Boys' Club. If you can get a good run in the CL and challenge for the league over the next few years, I can't see why Tottenham wouldn't be a first-choice destination for many top players, especially considering location.
  20. Really liking the African representation on our squad. Cisse, Bigirimana, Shola, Yanga-Mbiwa, and Tiote are all Africa-born and Sissoko, Sammy, and Abeid have some direct connection to the continent. Good to see.
  21. I'll be shocked if Jonas isn't starting. Wouldn't surprise me to see Shola either.
