  1. This is it. Offers absolutely nothing going forward, but he's a strong passer and not easily dispossessed. His best games last season came as part of the central 3 with Cabaye and Tiote.
  2. None of remaining 7 stick-out as potentially vulnerable. Be interesting to see who we get. Anybody but Chelsea and Spurs would be nice, we see them enough as it is and it'd be nice to have another game on the continent.
  3. Another devastating performance from him. Rock solid.
  4. Gabulov; Zhirkov, Ewerton, João Carlos, Eschenko; Carcela-González, Lass Diarra, Ahmedov, Jucilei, Boussoufa; Eto’o
  5. German refs today eh. Lucky them, choosing between an English (/French) team and a Russian team.
  6. Elliot Mapou Taylor Santon Haidara Anita Tiote Cabaye Sissoko Marveaux Cisse
  7. Elliot Mapou Taylor Simpson Haidara Anita Cabaye Marveaux Sissoko Jonas Cisse
  8. Call-ups for qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro: Goalkeepers: Ben Foster, Joe Hart, Fraser Forster Defenders: Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand (), Glen Johnson, Chris Smalling, Kyle Walker Midfielders: Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Leon Osman, Scott Parker, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott, Ashley Young Forwards: Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge, Daniel Welbeck
  9. Actually, he's been one of their most consistently solid performers. Very good player, off day.
  10. This isn't a dig, but may I ask why you support us? Just curious tbh! I could never bring myself to be a glory hunter. I have buddies who are "diehard" ManU and Chelsea fans. They've suffered so much angst, the cunts (they also know fuck-all about the game). I have an odd habit of supporting storied, bad-luck teams with working-class fanbases too. Watching NUFC fight back through the relegation season really sold me on the club. And I liked the kits, probably the most typically American reason for supporting a team. nah I like that reasoning, good on you for not just jumping at the glory hunters. For me, it was purely down to Alan Shearer, he was my idol when I was a little boy. Dad thought he could convert me to Millwall though, wasn't having any of that When Newcastle are down, I always tell myself, "Well Deuce, at least you're not a Millwall fan."

  12. Still waiting for the first... I only joined the party a few years ago, so bear with me.
  13. Roy Cropper ‏@RoyCropperNOT I reckon Arsenal will end up like Oscar Pistorius tonight. Both legs lost, and only a couple of shots on target.

Anyone catch Roy Miller's double-whammy shitheadedness against San Jose? Awful handful in the box, then encroached on the penalty that the keeper saved. PK was re-taken and scored. This is his response: Franco Panizo ‏@FrancoPanizo Wow. Roy Miller's response to why he encroached: "Did it on purpose w/ thought that he would score & ref would have to call it back." #RBNY

Sid Lowe ‏@sidlowe A great stat: Barça have played 3 times on day of Papal conclave (1958, 78, today). They have won all of them 4-0. Via @filippomricci
  16. He's not my type but I suppose he's attractive enough.
  17. Forgot Galatasaray had acquired Altintop from RM. Very good player.
