Probably Ashley’s argument. -
If you Google fan in peace, it’s all over club forums, like.

I reckon that performance has sealed a move in the summer now. It'll be for something lowish like £20m.

"In 2007, after his attempts to engage Liverpool’s US co-owners about possible transfer funds had been met with a terse email instructing him to focus on training and coaching the team, Benítez turned his next press conference into a display of open belligerence. Every one of the questions presented to him by an increasingly bewildered press pack was answered with the same phrase: “I am focused on training and coaching my team.” The following day, Benítez – never previously seen on a match day in anything other than a suit and tie – appeared on the touchline clad ostentatiously in a billowing training-ground tracksuit and box-fresh trainers. If he hadn’t had his way, he’d certainly made his point."

Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

So a reasonable estimate is that he’s taken about £30m a year out of the club over 12 seasons. So let’s round that down to £350m -

That’s me done, I think. Morpeth are nearer me and decent. How can I deactivate my account? -

Karren Brady comments on Richard Keys after his and Andy Gray's departure; from her Sun column "I SEE that the relic, Richard Keys, let out for the day from the Natural History Museum, believes I shouldn't be writing this column. We are living in an age in which if a woman wishes to tarmac roads, there is nothing to stop her. If Mr Keys thinks otherwise, he should dictate a note to his, no doubt, buxom secretary and I'll stop the cooking and cleaning to read it. If I don't hear from him, I'll assume he is tied up reading the Kenny Dalglish column . -

Which is exactly why he will want to leave as many grenades and mines in the way as he can. He is both a vindictive cunt and someone who has to be seen to 'win'. -

Once Rafa goes, he's knocked millions off the value of the club. The club without Rafa will need tens of millions of extra investment just to stay up. If Ashley wants to sell us under those terms, that's up to him I guess. But it's not in his interests. That said, I don't think he will sell us at all. Burn it all to the ground as far as I'm concerned, at least until the day a takeover is actually signed. Ashley has his price - he doesn't see Rafa as relevant. I also think he would take great pleasure on shitting on both the fans and any new owners if he possibly could... -

I reckon he WILL sell us. After Rafa goes - just to piss all over the fans. -

I reckon permanent relegation would do it. -

This could be his last chance to sell with Rafa as an asset adding value to a Prem club. If Ashley is still here in Jan he either has to spend big, or Rafa leaves and we probably go down this/next season for a lot longer. Not saying he is selling, but... -

Could we get Dave King onside, I wonder. -
It's mad how little people acknowledge the impact of momentum and confidence. When Keegan was here, that was his stock-in-trade - and he knew he needed to be backed to achieve it.

It's important to note that this all happened before Ashley fell out with the fans. He had decided to run the club like a c*nt before anything negative happened. -
If the alternatives are a few years as Sunderland or another decade of this shit, the former starts to look at least more satisfying as an experience. You know, hope - all that shit.

My theory has always been that Ashley wanted to sell SJP and was pissed off when he found he could not.
