This forum has a huge problem with the word average at the moment.

Its not clear. He could be saying you can't compare Allardyce to Southgate at National Level as Southgate has a lot more experience than Hippo head. He could also quite simply mean comparing him to Allardyce doesn't make sense and it would be like if someone compared Allardyce's tenure to Southgates (i.e not really comparable). Either way it's completely gratuitous and not really a strong point but clearly designed to rile Allardyce.

Love his reference to Southgate too.
