DCL enables us to bypass the press and doesn’t cost money. Savy.

It may well be coaching. He’s not on set pieces for two reasons I believe. He can shoot really well from the edge of the area if the ball comes out. He has incredible recovery pace and ball recovery if we are countered. I think his delivery is great but I doubt we will see him on set pieces often at all.

He looks to play the ball as quickly as possible, so it’ll happen. The net gain from Tonali is sky high.

He’s got you there.

Gratuitously petty from me.

We already played them away? -
Fucking carragher mentioning Steve Harpers slip in the same breath as ‘wor fab. He’s getting to Rio levels of insufferable.

Did we finish 4th with Miggy on the right?

Of course they can, or do Rangers not have any of their trophies as they are a new club? it was recognised that AFC Wimbledon were the continuation of Wimbledon football club. It should have been instantaneous that the heritage and IP went to them.

Not sure we were ever hell bent on one way of playing. There’s been plenty of tweaks throughout his time here. We’ve changed formations in games Wilson Isak 4-4-2 anyone? Dan burn as left back/auxiliary centre back in defence. Joelinton and Willock interchanging on the left hand side. He’s not perfect but nobody is.

So many goals fall into this bracket, but only the spectacular get this type of discussion. -
PIF just need to put their money into cloning him.

Sir Bobby said that a managers success could be judged by leaving the club in a better position than when you arrived. By this metric Benitez was a huge success whereas Bruce was a significant failure.

I don’t recall any significant delay but not sure on my recall. He hadn’t managed in the second tier since the year 2000 and had most recently been at Real Madrid before ourselves. I think it’s harsh to say some truth, it seems to be plenty of truth that we were lucky to have him. Keep in mind as well he would have been negotiating with Ashley and doubtless he wanted to wrest as much power as he could away from the clubs hierarchy. By the end of the championship season he had the players highly organised. The structures put in place were an excellent foundation for whoever came in after him and it took a while for the defensive solidity to wear off. Then there’s the stuff to do with being responsible in part for bringing the Saudi’s/Staveley in. I have no doubt that if the takeover had gone through sooner he would have remained in post.

Even when he stayed post relegation? Just cannot agree.

Those shades are incredible.

It is. Not quite sure what he’s getting at with it.
-
The form he is in there is literally no benefit at all to us selling him this summer.

You may well be right, it may also be the case that other players were genuinely preferred and the links to Barca and Arsenal were tenuous. It’s difficult to draw firm conclusions from transfer negotiations because they are opaque.

Kinda feel the prices Bournemouth pay are predicated on not keeping the players.
