Burnley just aren’t very good

Tottenham had 8 corners. Ten man Burnley 9. After about 25 minutes it felt like we were in control. Think our general play with the ball was better against spurs at times. But then red cards change games and it was a very different match second half save for dumbassery at the end.

There was a lot of time in the first half we were quite exposed and nervy at the back. Better final ball from Burnley would have had us in deep trouble on a few occasions. None of that featured on MOTD. We didn’t do a lot before Bruno’s corner but did start to control the game better.

Yorkshire isn’t it.

Hes definitely thinking too much, and you can see sometimes he’s not sure where he should be stood, when he should run. Hes clearly being asked to play differently to what he was used to at forest and it’s taking a lot of time for him to adjust. His first touch is a bit of a worry but I think he’ll end up alright.

His brain is against him at the moment which doesn’t help.

So I think the loan was probably a symptom of not wanting to sign him as a long term number one, needing cover for Pope and recognising that when we sign a new number one he will hopefully use his feet more, so the players can start to do work with a keeper with that in mind. Or I’m just giving people too much credit and it was as hoc filler.
