  1. I wouldn't put it past them. Joking aside, if he had had sex with an underage lass, but she lied about her age, could he still get done for it? I'm not joking. Public opinion would be the only thing preventing many clubs from signing him. Chelsea employed Graham Rix after his conviction, Chelsea stood by John Terry through everything. We're not talking a tinpot gobshite welsh championship-at-best-but -only-if -he-loses -the -ego-and-knuckles-down striker here. Johnson is PL quality and clubs will be prepared to deal with the flak for what he brings on the pitch.
  2. That'll be him done for Everton, Arsenal and the mackems then?? Second time this season, is he ever gonna fucking learn?
  3. When all's said and done...this is what stands out for me. Without meaning to alienate or belittle a huge number of people from a region I respect greatly...are our fans f***ing retarded or what? f*** sake man. Scum, the lot of them. Was awful that like. Still, pushing Villa towards potential relegation made the 90 minutes almost worthwhile. I'm not too fussed about people going to the match, I just wish they'd show some passion, give Ashley some shit, shout/sing for 90 minutes, just something. They just sit like a bunch of fucking zombies. Met up with a Villa fan after the match and he made the point that to him a lot of our fans "didn't look like they were too interested in the football or too bothered about the result." I couldn't have put it better myself.
  4. I remember Keegan saying for they game at the beginning of 95/96 that it was pretty much a coin flip as to who started right wing out of Fox or Gillespie. Gillespie got the nod and made the shirt his. The simplicity of his game which was just based on making a yard of space then whipping it in was perfect for Sir Les and contrasted nicely with the trickier more skillful winger on the left wing. Football wasn't really viewed as a squad game back then so when Fox spent most of his time on the bench, he became frustrated at not playing and wanted to move on. Didn't know Fox had played for Montserrat, but seem to remember him playing in an England 'B' international when he was with us???
  5. Scunthorpe not beating Yeovil has cost me about £43. Disappointing from the iron tbf
  6. Fingers crossed then. He thinks with their defensive injuries we'll win four or five nil. Imagine that. All them shots on target

    John Carver

The thought of an angry Carver Anyone happen to have a gif of a pissed up old tramp running around on Clayton Street, dropping carrier bags as he tries to kick imaginary seagulls and swearing loudly at passing buses??
  8. Aye they all expect to be fucking rich!!
  9. Could you imagine the investigation man? With the amount of enemies this shitstain has made and people he's pissed off through the business/football/personal parts of his life it would make who shot Mr Burns (or JR if you're older) look like a simple game of Cluedo.
  10. Because they're as deep in bed with FIFA and football's money men as anyone else? Is the correct answer.
  11. Sponsors /broadcast partners wouldn't allow it. Would be mint though, the ultimate level playing field. Imagine Burnley or whoever going into a league match at Chelsea as bona fide favourites because Chelsea had 18 players at the world cup.
  12. No, I completely agree that the policy is unfortunately here to stay under Ashley. I cant ever see a manager capable of saying "sod this I'm going to change this culture" (or with the balls to do it) being employed by this regime. They must've got the idea from somewhere and the only 2 football people we know who Ashley listens to were Pardew and Kinnear, the second was completely discredited and hoyed out on his arse at the end of that season. The whole thing pisses me right off mind. The added bonus to Ashley being that a free weekend in January = players being rested and not at risk of injury coming up to the end of the transfer window.
  13. We first started playing ridiculously weakened teams in the FA cup at Brighton in 12/13 on Pardew's watch. Since then it has been an officially announced club policy. There's a big difference between being shit in the cup as previously and not deciding to bother with it at all Obviously since then the board have taken it to a stupid degree by calculating the bare minimum expense to stay up then uf they fuck everything else off it = maximum profit!!!
  14. Why would it make me feel better? What an odd thing to say. And players not being arsed/manager performing poorly doesn't equate to the club not being arsed with it. That's a relatively recent phenomenon*. * 2010 I'll give you, difference is we were attempting to actually achieve something in the league that season, win it, and the potential costs of not getting promoted meant it kinda made sense to most. Even then if it wasn't for a laughably slanted refereeing performance we'd have potentially not lost to West Brom.
  15. Feel free to renew your hatred by recalling what a s**** football manager he was, as opposed to focusing on the politics of his role at the club under Ashley. If the latter is causing you to doubt his complicity in systematically destroying the entity of the football club - just remember the stuff about refusing to play Ben Arfa or playing Cisse on the wing or losing to the Mackems for times in a row or this or that or this or that or this or that. He was terrible in the dugout before you even begin to question whether or not he was in cahoots with the club's mantra. This. I'm relatively neutral regarding Pardew now- he's f***ed off and is someone else's problem now. BUT, his shadow still lingers large over the club. Where do people think "you can't compete in the cups without risking relegation" originally came from? Especially given that it first reared it's head during 13/14, after a summer where Ashley pulled Pardew in to explain why the league form had been so s*** and he had to find some way to cover his arse. Unfortunately the useless f***ers at the top not only believed him but took it word for word literally. IN his first season we where out the FA Cup in the 3rd round to Morecombe was it? IN the 5th season 3rd or 4th to Brighton. You may have noticed during 13/14 but I don't think we've had a decent run in any competition under Ashley. It was during 13/14 when the club officially acknowledged a lack of interest in the cups to a fans forum and outlined their ludicrous "research" into teams competing in cups and getting relegated. Officially. But it's clear the policy has been long-running and pre-dates that season. Not necessarily. The defeat to Stevenage and first defeat to Brighton were down to incompetence on the side of the manager and to a certain extent players. We played the best available team at Brighton but got beat by a better team on the day, and were so determined to turn the Stevenage game around that Pardew (laughably) brought on Tiote to save the day when he had originally left him out to save him for the derby. Tbf we've always dithered and fucked about with the league cup team which has been one of my biggest frustrations with NUFC and in fairness that does pre-date Pardew and if we're honest it pre-dates Ashley too. But again though it's got worse and was never as bad as playing virtual reserve teams at Man City and in the quarter final (!!!) like this season.

  18. That has given my ears aids. Thanks for that.
  19. When hell freezes over, I'd imagine
  20. Spent the first half driving back from looking at wedding venues listening to it fully intending to watch 2nd half now I'm actively avoiding it. All in all a fucking shitty waste of a Saturday off work Gonna try to recoup some enjoyment, off to a couple nice beer serving, non-football pubs then for a curry methinks.
  21. Done out of a nice double on the horses today by some f***ing jumped up upstart of a 50/1 shot coming in. Itsasting?!? Too f***ing right it was. To the glue factory with you.
  22. Love this player. He has improved a lot this season and there's more to come. It'd be great to secure him on a new contract. Would be like a new signing tbh...
  23. What happened to sunderland the humble, never criticising, always backing the team, accepting of their place in football's pecking order not like us horrible nasty mags up the road with our delusions and selfish desire to see our team improve?? Has no-one remembered to give them a patronising tickle on the belly this month? That RTF crown slips any further it'll be past their kneecaps.
  24. Worst if a very bad bunch yesterday, but generally been outstanding this season. Hope he was nice to Carver and licked his arse properly after the game, or we'll be seeing Ryan Taylor rushed back into the starting line up on Wednesday.
  25. Not the lad's biggest fan by any stretch of the imagination but appalling decision to take him off and leave Sissoko/ameobi on today. At least he was fucking putting the effort in and at least he was trying to make things happen unlike that pair of shirkers.
