We don't and quite honestly not bothered if we go down, I would love to see us have the passion like Leicester etc they may be constantly up and down and a bit s*** but better than constantly aiming for mid table. The championship seems a more fun league anyway and im fed up of us just meandering along not really doing much. If we went down, shed all of our s*** and started using youth I would get 1000% more enjoyment than the last few years. Really can't disagree with that, if we've been told we're actively never going to try to win anything again, that what's left? Being a yo-yo club, like the makems might actually be somewhat appealing, at least once in a while you get to hammer everyone for a season Except it won't be like that this time around. This. The only reason the Championship was fun was because we p*ssed it, not a chance people will enjoy it whilst we are in mid table or fighting relegation. There is no Andy Carroll, and there is no Tim Krul this time around to save us. Non of our current squad has loyalty like Nolan and Barton who stayed and fought did. If we are stuck in the Championship for a few years all Ashley will do is cut costs more, any acedemy players who look half decent will be sold at the earliest opportunity instead of retaining them for a promotion fight. Everything will be the same as now, except instead of aiming to survivor in the Premiership we will be aiming to survive in the Championship. Nothing will be won by us being relegated. Keeping most of the players that took us down undoubtedly helped, as they were clearly better than that league, but that was mainly down to them having long contracts at the time, and there being no takers for them. Hence Ashley had to foot the bill for their wages, which he then added onto the 'loan'. Most of those same players left now have had the fight knocked out of them and/or are out of/nearing end of contracts, so whether we stay up or go down, it really needs to be a rebuild job this summer. Of course, we wont buy nearly enough players to replace and strengthen the squad accordingly, and the same issues will probably surface again with squad depth.

Even KK took about 9 games to get his first win last time he came back, though he did get a few draws. Think if they do bring McClaren in now, its on the basis that he was a Championship manager anyway, so if we go down he's lost nowt - if we stay up, it'll be dressed up as partly down to him. If they are trying to bring McClaren or anyone else in, I hope they jettison Carver altogether and not just demote him, along with Stone and Woodman in the process. Next Head Coach/Manager/puppet need to at least bring his own people with him.

Aye, be to beg them not to let him speak to NUFC.
  5. Agree - their biggest pitch seemed to be the fact they advertise standard prices as sales / huge price cuts to get more people through doors - something I'm sure a lot of shops do. Also, the zero hours and crap working regime at the warehouse, they wont be alone in pushing staff as far as possible. However, the SD/NUFC thing clearly has hit a nerve, and the fact that club shop merchandise revenue now appears to go straight to SD is something that deserved more investigation. As well as Wonga sponsorship and the SD stadium advertising - but they brushed that one off as an owner 'using one to advertise the other'. Anyway, see what the 'full statement' has to say on the SD/NUFC revenue link. But its at least good that its prompted the club to respond. A strategy of targetting SD is clearly the way to get to Ashley.

we're pulling a UKIP we need moar jak colbacs to succeed Well its looking like Krul and Janmaat could be away in summer as well as Coloccini. So with Darlow and Lacelles coming in, thats two more non-forrins in the squad. Be great next season when we have a a british keeper and defence... with Darlow in goal, Raylor at RB, Lacelles and Williamson at CB, and Dummet at LB. #NeeMoreForrins

If indeed the remaining french players are such a 'contagious' problem, maybe they wouldn't be if a few of their compatriots hadn't been sold off and/or treated like **** by the club.

Re: French players, just seen this post on FB under a Chronicle article:
  10. That's utter bollocks. There's thousands of football fans all over the country who love going to watch their football club and have done since they were small children. It's in their blood and despite how bad things get simply cannot stop doing it. Yeah, they're sheep with no self respect and you're one of them. No we're not. We're people who've grown up loving their football and supporting their football club whether they're good or bad. It's a hobby that we all enjoy. Good or bad doesn't even come into it, man. As others have pointed out, we've been s**** for most of our history. This is about someone taking away the things you love about the club, the things that made you want to go to the match in the first place. Nail on head. Since my first match in 1988, I've seen us relegated twice, promoted twice and never win owt. But in most of those 27 years, you always felt the club wanted to do better, and even win something - despite having some dodgy players like Frank Pingel, Des Hamilton or Silvio Maric. Now, its about one thing only - trying to stay in the top flight, simply to promote S****D*****.com at the highest level, whilst maintaining the lowest net spend possible. If that is the club that the likes of Ujpest want to support simply for their day out/hobby, then they are welcome to it.
  11. Hehe, I can imagine on 34mins today, Ujpest was sat in his seat eating his match pie saying... "Howay lads sit down man... it won't make any difference, he already has ya money... I cant see the match, for all those banners no-one was handing out!"

"They could not go to the match against Swansea because they are performing at the same time - but said they would boycott if they could." So erm, they are boycotting, then??

I'm sure AO will announce the next stage of protest soon, but I don't see any reason why those who stayed away yesterday should just go back for the next home match.... indeed, more should follow them in boycotting. If most suddenly go back, then it'll appear to have been a one-off, rather than showing that many fans are truly sick of Ashleys running of the club, and staying away accordingly. EDIT: Another Twitter account has appeared, claiming they will go after the club fr refunds on 2014-15 ST's for those who want it. Aye, can see that working, like.
  16. FA Cup 5th Round at home v Wimbledon - 1988 Lost 1-3... Mirandinha kicked Dave Beasant up the arse on the way off at FT. Went in 'The Corner' my first few matches, until I saw sense and decided I wanted to actually watch the match, and migrated to The Scoreboard.
  17. You may as well join in for this game mate, absolutely nothing to lose. It'll feel much better to be part of the however-many who took part. it will i agree, i have always believed in backing those on the pitch with the shirt on though regardless of everything going on around it Exactly my point. What would it take for you to stop? Being sponsored by "Jimmy Saville Was Innocent PLC"? 3 Relegations plus a few false dawns haven't stopped me going. http://theinspirationroom.com/daily/interactive/2007/1/burger-king-loyal-super-fan.jpg

Walkout was always gonna be difficult to be effective, with supporters who wanted to stay criticising those who wanted to walk out/did walkout. Hopefully a full boycott will be easier to just do something else that day, even if they don't join a protest group in Leazes park.
