  1. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20140219/united-freeze-or-reduce-season-ticket-prices_2281670_3676426 Ashley Rattled?
  2. We wouldn't pay a transfer fee for him, especially with those dodgy knees, due to explode at any time.
  3. Is this still just from 'Winnetsports' or are any other, more 'credible' sources reporting it yet?
  4. Forgive my ignorance - is a "winnet" the same as a "dangleberry"? It has been a while since I heard this term... It certainly is. Remember the first time I saw that term, in Viz.... http://ladybunny.net/blog/uploaded_images/Clag-gone-745254.jpg

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Could this be the thing that finally makes the crowd turn on Pardew, then? Hopefully.

    Sunderland

Just seen this on FB.... Was a youth cup tie??
  7. Reet thats me... off to bed, and hope that maybe Ashley see's a bit of sense and sacks this sackless Tw*t by morning. Aye... Reeto!!!
  8. Remember, he survived a 0-6 home defeat last season.
  9. Total Sport again this evening, couldn't believe that so many Newcastle fans didn't think there's anything left to play for, with 13 games left (before tonight). Then they played Pardew's interview, where he mentions that we have a great chance of catching/finishing above Man Utd. That would normally be great, if it wasn't the worst Man Utd team since the Premier League started. Anyway... at least they can't use the 'we are 8th' excuse for the foreseeable.
  10. must move on and look forward. ( brush the derby under the carpet and forget it? dont f***ing think so like.) Aye, once again a caller rang TS tonight and said things had never felt so depressed around the club, as they do at this moment. Anderson: (exasperated) "Why?" Its like they think people are reacting to the derby defeat and the Cabaye sale, without realising that those incidents are just the final straw for a lot of people. They (TS) don't seem to, or don't want to recognise that this is just a culmination of the mis-management and lack of ambition of the club. But of course we are (currently) 8th... we should be happy, right??
  11. Just seen this in NUFC.com's 'On this Day' section.... 1998 Gary Speed joined Newcastle for the then outrageous sum of £5.5m, after a "reluctant" Everton manager Howard Kendall had held out as United's offers increased.
  12. Yeah, that's the thing... since we sold Andy Carroll for £35m and everyone hoped they'd reinvest that in the squad on transfer fees, they started claiming that money would need to cover all transfer costs included agents fees, wages, etc not just the actual fee for the player between clubs, almost to try and reduce the expectation of (many) signings.
  13. Was it not Comolli who spent £35m of Liverpool's cash on another player, too??
  14. Aye, heard that. Yet about 10mins beforehand he said if the amount of people who'd told him they weren't renewing didn't, then the ground would be empty next season. Radio Newcastle defo trying to play down the cancellation/non-renewal rumours, though.
  15. On the paper review on SSN this morning, they said that while he has 'resigned', its clearly not that straight forward, based up on the limited club statement which offered no thanks, or anything in it. They then went on to say how Kinnears appointment had restricted Pardew, and now Pardew can get on with managing the team, because he is a 'very good manager'.
  16. Hmm, I'd love to think this was part of that... but we'll see.
  17. Saw this posted on FB today, not sure if it was taken today though..... Appears to be JFK outside the Central Station. Apologies if its already been posted.
  18. Yeah, heard that - they keep talking about how good a season we have had, and the fact we are still 8th. No mention of the public lack of ambition, progress in cup competitions, etc. We should just be grateful to have beaten Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs earlier in the season. The Man Utd result is looking weaker as the season goes on, with more and more teams beating them for the first time in however many years!
  19. Only heard bits and pieces of TotalSport on the way home, but did any fans manage to get through and state they were cancelling/not renewing season tickets? Heard a couple of callers critical of Ashley and Pardew, but neither seeming to mention the ST situation. Hopefully some of the media might pick up on it at some point.
  20. Lad at work says he cancelled his DD on friday afternoon, and started to have second thoughts about what he'd done, on saturday morning. By saturday afternoon, he was certain he'd done the right thing.
  21. As did Chris Hughton, of course.
  22. Whatever the financial state the club was in when he left (and I'm still not certain it was in great shape), I still question Shepherd's decision making in his last few years. Sacking Sir Bobby... appointing Souness, spending all the sponsorship money on Owen.... £9m for Luque... then appointing Roeder.... then Allardyce. I'm sure his heart was in the right place, compared to the current incumbant, but dear me, some of the problems we had were down to Shepherd.

    Papiss Cissé

They'll probably look at it that he's not getting on the pitch (much) anymore, and when he does he's barely contributing. They can potentially get a multi-million pound fee for him, and save on his wages too. As an added bonus, we (hopefully) aren't gonna go down, and our window is shut. "Everyone's a winner!"
  24. Good letter - thats the way it should be done IMO... telling the club exactly why you are cancelling/not renewing.
