  1. Potentially 3 NUFC players in the England Squad at the Euros? (if this happens, that is..... and then Berahino, Townsend and Shevley have stormers the rest of the season)
  2. SSN: "We understand NUFC bid is £21m up front... not in installments"
  3. SSN: NUFC have made £21m bid for Berahino
  4. £11m is a lot for a Championship club to spend on one player if they don't get promoted - maybe they wanted to be able to offload him or reduce his wages if they don't go up this season? You have to wonder why with his scoring record, he hasn't been signed by a Premiership club yet, though.
  5. Was asking a mate who's a Spurs fan about him... says he can be a decent player on his day, but he can't cross a ball. Great... just what you need in a winger.
  6. Not sure - we lost 4 games across christmas 0-1.... had we had players capable of sticking the ball in the net more regularly, it could have been different. I don't think we'll ever have a very good defence - but if we can at least stick the chances away, we'll have a better chance of picking points up.
  7. Yeah, the media seem to be (deliberately) confused between Mike 'sanctioning' deals and 'investing' in the squad.
  8. RIP Cliffy. Didn't know him, but definitely seen him around. Article on the Chronicle website... http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/tributes-paid-newcastle-united-superfan-10746768#ICID=FB-Chron-main
  9. These 'Free' jackets are gonna cost everyone who registered/wants one, a fiver!! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/mike-ashley-faces-24-million-7191960 Bet the coats only worth a fiver... never worth anywhere near £59.99!
  10. So frustrating... Whilst this one might slip away, we once again raise our game against a 'top' team. Its teams down/around us we need to be playing like this against, and we might have a chance of picking some points up!
  11. Apparently Ashley messed up with online sales when he added a delivery charge to your order even when you pick it up in store, he was advised not to do it but did it anyway Saw that mentioned on a 'deals' website I use, before christmas. SD.com charged £4 or £5 delivery to click and collect from store, but then gave you a £5 voucher to spend instore... so he clearly hoped people would then go back and buy stuff in one of his jumble sales.
  12. Just seen this on a mates FB feed. Whilst slightly expected given his condition, still heartbreaking news. Thoughts go out to his family. RIP Pav :'(
  13. Saw this yesterday, awful news. Just hope he pulls through. Howay, Pav Lad!

    Steve McClaren

Not having that like. We got Pardew who nobody wanted, Carver who's not a manager and McClaren who almost nobody wanted. Maybe if we appointed a decent f***ing manager with decent f***ing credentials and decent f***ing experience we wouldn't have this same problem again and again. That was what I was getting at in the next part of my post.

    Steve McClaren

Part of me has thougth the same thing this time - we are now on manager 3 with most of the same group of players, and nothing is changing, which begins to point towards the players. However, I then remember the two previous 'managers' and then look at the turn around Klopp has/is doing at Liverpool, and you think that the right person in charge CAN make a difference to, an arguably, poor group of players. But there lies the bigger issue.... under the current owner, no manager of any worth is going to get the chance, because they'd A: cost money (probably), B: want more control than he wants them to have and C: have to take orders from Penfold Charnley. Basically, we're F***ed!
  16. From memory, he seemed ok publicly, and he was very public and vocal, making all the right noises. In fact, remember the days of him and Ashley being photographed in Blu Bambu, etc when things were going well. He allegedly headed up the takeover for MA, and was part of the team, and chairman/MD that brought KK back. But he was also part of the team that brought in Wise, Jiminez and Vetere. Night and day though, when Llambias took over in that role. The communication stopped and thats when things really seemed to begin to go to Sh*t. He had left the club (I think) before the Keegan fiasco kicked off. Would have him back, if only that he's from a legal background, and would advise Ashley better than he has been since he left. And Ashley clearly trusted him, and his judgement to let him handle the initial takeover for him.
  17. Keys: "Don't go guys. Don't go anymore. It's short term pain for long term gain. I know it's likely to be tough, but don't go. It's the only way to let Ashley know he's not wanted."

    Alan Shearer

We desperately need some of the identity from the Shearer/Keegan/Speed/Lee/Robson era! Only problem is, most people who were associated with the better times, have seen the decline in the club and publicly spoken out against Ashley. Even if they wanted to come in and try to help, they wouldn't get the chance.

    Chancel Mbemba

Think Mbemba and/or any other centre half is gonna struggle when they have to play alongside Coloccini each week. With a better partner, with a bit of leadership, he'd probably flourish. Until the 'club captain' is dropped or sold, then nowts going to change with the defence.
