Just watching a clip of Danny Murphy on Talksport last night, another pundit rightly criticising BBD, but he said we are appealing (not seen that elsewhere) but he also said they don't give the extra game for a frivolous appeal anymore. If that's true, we may as well appeal it, if no danger of it being increased. Anyone know if that's true?

You'd love to think that given the media reaction to this, PGMOL themselves would look at it, and admit that having now looked at the slow motion videos, and analysing the incident properly (thus not exactly blaming the Ref and/or VAR), they realise it was a mistake, and should change it to a yellow card for Schar for the reaction, as contact was negligable. No real difference to the result as we won the game (other than killing the match as a spectacle), however our player is now available for the next 3 matches. But, we know they won't, and as much as I think we should, we (NUFC) probably wont appeal it either.

Yeah same, I thought the rule was simply putting your head into someones face, but once they read the full rule, and they mentioned 'negligable contact', then I now think we should appeal it. What a lot of these pundits don't seem to have mentioned, is that Brereton-Dias also puts his head forward too, only difference, Fabian doesn't go down.

We could be trying to link it to potential future England appearances too. We're trying to buy him, after playing almost every Euros game, but arguably he wouldn't have got any time, had Maguire been fit/taken. New manager coming in, may not pick Guehi, yet Palace will have added 'England International' premium onto the price too.

I'd assume it just eats straight into your cashflow, and loads of clubs selling might prefer to spread payments (steady ongoing income). But its what Ashely used to do wasn't it? Pay in buying fees in one, to hopefuully get a better deal for a cash lumper, and then accepted payments when selling our players on the drip? But whichever way you pay, I think it goes in the accounts towards FFP/PSR in same way (cost spread over contract length)?

Yep, too many people quick to jump on the club/recruitment team, when we dont know they haven't met what Palace have asked, only for things to change or Palace to complicate things more each time. Only side making any noise about this, is Palace. Works for them to make it look like us just not stumping up the cash, despite trying to do a deal worth over £70m to them.
