The only thing I'd question is when he talks about the need to build revenues, when he was asked PSR, etc. Maybe we are trying to do deals behind the scenes and testing the water with the PL with regards Associated party (saudi) deals, etc but they do seem to have missed some tap ins to boost the revenues, namely things like the Training Kit sponsor, even a sponsor for the current training complex, with the carrot of getting the new one too. Sure that Peter Silverstone made comments in the past about waiting for the 'right deal', but to a certain extent, any money in the short term is better than none? Show the value of it to other sponsors, and then go after the bigger/better deal next.

Whether he has or not, Hopkinson isn't going to go on record and publicly say Eddie has this target or that, and then the media can pick them off one by one and ramp up a perceived pressure on him.

Prefers them pasta shells to spaghetti, an'aall is what I've heard.

That Florian Plettenberg is tweeting this now, based on the Sky Sports Germany report. Saying we rejected an initial approach, and a deal today would be difficult. I'd agree about today, but reckon Tonali is away in the summer.

Can we not just fetch him back to teach our current wingers to do this? https://www.skysports.com/iframe/widget/video/4c9c959f-5e2e-40fd-8907-a4bbf59c2dab

He scored those two goals against Chel$ea and was then on the bench the next game for Wissa (I think), then they've been pretty much rotated with only two instances (I think) of them being on the pitch at the same time. I don't think its done/doing either of them any good with getting going properly, but Eddie either cant or doesn't want to find a way to play them together so they get the added match time. Whether it'll happen more now Osula is available to go on the bench, is anyone's guess. But said it in the match thread, throwing them on together yesterday after we were 3-1 down just seemed like a 'see what you can do lads' rather than a coherent plan.

Haven't read through all the posts, but watched this out last night and probably echo a lot of previous comments. Great start, and first half hour or so, but once they equalised we just kind switched off. Traditional Howe reactive triple sub after they got the 3rd, and hoying Wolte and Wissa on suggested he knew the game was gone, and it was a case of let's just see what happens, rather than a plan. Strange one though, to start the game with no 'striker', but finish the match with 3 of them on!! Well, 'striker' in loosest of terms. Overall probably a half expected result, but the scoreline was a kick in the nuts really. They weren't really 4-1 better than us, but we just got sloppy in 2nd half, and that 4th goal. Anyway, onto Man City and see if we can rescue the tie.

See above... varying shades of blue on the feathery thing!

Not really a new thing though is it? Early 1900's we wore blue shorts a few seasons. Then it was umbro starter introducing bits of blue in 1991 on the shorts. Then Asics had a couple of blue bits on the home shirt before Adidas in 1999. Guess it comes frorm the Magpie thing, where there can appear to have blue on them in certain light.

I think they still have to be within 'fair market Value' however, a key change (i think) was the onous on whetehr it was fair now being on the PL to disprove, rather than the clubs... or something like that. Previosuly, the PL would use some spurious way to say it was too high, and clubs had to prove otherwise/justify it. Now the its the PL that has too do all the work to say its over the odds.

Can't complain too much about the performance there. First quarter of an hour, looked like we might get overrun, but we settled, got back into it, and were unlucky not to get a winner. Ref was a twat, like. But, still unbeaten against PSG in the CL.

WOW, unbelievable finish for Benfica there.
