For all their fans whinging about how bad the Glazers are haven't only City and Chelsea outspent them?
-
Unfortunately this kind of common sense does not apply with Bruce in charge
-
I'd argue that we were desperate in most positions barring centre back
-
Yes with hindsight and recent events make it a terrible idea...but back in 97' it seemed good
-
Weren't we the same when Vieira was being suggested for here? He's not exactly pulled up trees in his managerial career
-
Not really...a blind one armed monkey could take Rangers to first or second in the SPL
-
On a broader note...is this a new thing where fans can see a manager is terrible even before being appointed? I mean who were the PFMs of the late 80's/Early 90's? Consider Keegan for us....no experience, but came in and changed everything....who could do that now? Hatem? Cabaye? There was a time just after he retired that I thought Beardsley would have been brilliant for us...(yes im well aware that he's been proven to be a terrible idea)
-
Also...is it not possible that playing under arguably one of the best ever managers ever clouds owners judgements and puts a false reputation ahead of them? Think of the players under Ferguson who have become managers...how many have actually been any good? Hughes...fair to middling at best Nevilles...both pretty rubbish Ince....ego of Mourinho, performance of league one Giggs....did ok, but not great Bruce...less said the better Solskjaer...doing ok, but nothing stand out Bryan Robson....gave up after being relegated Scholes...freely admitted he couldn't handle the hassle Keane...Ok in Championship Kanchelsikis...languishing in Uzbekistan Sheringham...sacked from Stevenaage and an Indian club Stam...sacked from Reading, last seen in MLS Blanc...probably the best of the lot Rooney...currently trying his best to get Derby into a relegation fight Several more who get/got sacked within a single season.

Liverpool were strongly linked to Lewis
-
No idea any more. Even if he is, do you really see our lot effectively spending 24m (14m right off on Lewis + 10m fee) on a fullback? More likely offer 10m with Lewis not involved at all, or a straight swap
-
He's not going to end up any of the 'big 6' though...Everton/West Ham, possibly Leicester at best. Any of the 'Big 6' will want a 'name' from abroad. None of them will even consider looking at Championship players
-
Ok serious question time.... What is it Bruce has that has enabled him to take charge of 900 games over his career? Was he good enough at some point and just been left behind? Do a few promotions to the Premiership blind owners?
-
1...That story is clearly b******s 2 There's no way they'd send a 14m player back to Norwich and spend 10m to get his replacement. Remember we've got no money 'cos of Covid

I don't think what Keith is doing has anything remotely to do with the club at all. Everyone knows how secretive and unengaging our lot in charge is. Ashley and Charnley can barely be able to bother interacting with anyone at all regardless of the noise calling for them too. Look at the Chronicle poll a few weeks back. I cant believe Charnley didn't see the results of it at all. A normal club would put out a response or statement in that light but as usual total silence. Given their record in this regard does anyone really believe that they'd engage with Keith. No doubt they're aware of his reactions, but he just gives them a convenient route to continue to say nothing, which i'd fully expect Charnley to love so that he doesn't have to actually type anything, or talk to a minion to type for him

Scary how often Aguero is top of the list https://www.football365.com/news/feature-every-premier-league-clubs-three-most-feared-opponents-aguero-kane-vardy

Give him Shelvey, Joelinton, Krafth, Ritchie and Carroll and see how good a coach he really is
-
Indeed he is. Like him or not he's good at what he does...shameless self promotion, with the aim of getting people talking about him and whatever he happens to be involved with. Kind of admire in a perverse kind of way how he's brought attention to the Sayers who are apparently massive gangstas....Would never have heard about them without him making a big deal of them. On the other hand most of what he does makes him look like a tosser, but if it gets people talking about him and what he's doing then he wins
-
They could have played their U-18s and still won comfortably with the collective effort our lot put in. And Bruce would still remind us of how it's tough against 'big teams with big players'
-
Yep...all 6 of his goals were worth about 15 points
-
Ok...in that case make the clubs deal with it through an HR department. There is literally no reason two clubs couldnt organise a transfer directly between them without a middle man taking a big slice of any fee just for arranging something that could easily be done in house

That's exactly the role of the agent. Their cut comes first the clients 'career' is a distant second. Obviously some will do other stuff to keep their clients happy like the menial stuff most people have to do on a day to day basis, but cant seen the likes of Raiola/Zahavi etc spend any time making sure that the players butler has turned the bed down for them
