  1. Like Bruce and our scouting team have even heard of Valencia
  2. Doesn't mean anything other than the club are still actually doing things rather than sitting with their thumbs up themselves. If they genuinely know as little as they say about ownership change then this does make sense, as unpalatable as it is.
  3. Hahahahahaha If that's a genuine quote then it shows exactly why Bruce should be nowhere near a premier League team. I've not exactly held back on him for being crap, but that's beyond belief
  4. Been saying this for ages too. She doesn't inspire confidence at all to date sadly. I don't really know enough about her to form an opinion yet. Anyone know what her actual role was in Man City takeover? Seems to get a bit of credit for that but think she is starting to look like (an albeit successful) chancer
  5. Definitely. He was captain and basically ever present in a team that won 3 PL titles. Competition for the England spots must be high at that time. Who was he up against - Adams, Keown? His centre-back partner Gary Pallister got in before him as he was better. He was also up against the likes of Des Walker and Mark Wright earlier on. Tough competition! He was probably worth a place in the squad and a few caps but would’ve never been a regular i don’t think. I’m sure even Keith Curle got a couple of caps, he was basically just a thug who could run fast. Was one of the best at the time. If we had him instead of Peacock in 94/95/96 we'd probably have 2 recent titles. Must have been some underlying attitude issue to not even get a call up considering some of the dross that was called up. Yes there was plenty of good competition, but mentioned before he was the mainstay of a defence in the most successful team of the time. It would have been like not calling up Ferdinand or Terry through the 00s
  6. The situation will develop as pif wont wait around forever. Also Ian Mearns MP made an interesting point last night, at what point does Ashley consider this a restraint of trade. Though there own rules don’t appear to have a set timescale for a decision, however a court could rule that this delay is not reasonable and does constitute a restraint of trade. Don’t think it will come to this though as I expect decision in next 2 weeks. Mike Ashley thought lockdown was a restraint of trade
  7. Is he into permacrocks? Tottenham want £25m to make the move permanent. Would rather start with 10 men
  8. If he's still on the pitch when shown the red then the sub can't come on. Depends how vindictive the referee is. I'd imagine most wouldn't bother giving the second yellow if the player was going off the pitch anyway. Surely would have seen it happen with players like Rooney a few times
  9. :mackems: :mackems: :mackems: :mackems: :mackems: :mackems: :mackems: Given what we've heard from him so far, that is perfectly conceivable!
  10. Devils advocate...what do the PL gain by delaying? Good PR for looking like they are resisting an oppressive regime? Doesnt seem too likely since they sold their soul to Sky, BT, Amazon , Bein and the rest years ago. More money from KSA? Seems pretty likely to me. They've seen an opportunity to get more £££through the door, and want to make it seem legitimate. Cengiz and Amnesty had an impact. Nah clearly not Amnesty was forgotten pretty sharpish and no-one listens the grieving fiance for more than a day or two now despite her increasingly desperate letters General incompetence Possible, but not too likely for an organisation of that size unless they are struggling with resources Simple answer...follow the money. Whatever route will gain them the most is probably close to the truth. That looks like a separate deal to screen games in KSA, which means untangling whatever deal is in place with Qatar
  11. Nothing...this is the most perfect thing to happen since Rafa joined
  12. What in your eyes, wouldn't have been failure? He has exceeded expectations as we've not been relegated. Success would have been seeing some football that doesn't make your eyes bleed, and that's been a massive failure
  13. What's the biggest decline in a topflight teams position from 1 year to the next. Is it us is from 2nd to 13th, or did Leeds eclipse it from champions League to relegation? Don't recall if their drop was just over 1 season

Given the state of the club at the minute, i wouldn't be surprised to hear a transcript like this... Charnley..."We're getting massive pressure and reputation for being tightwad scroungers which we can't hide in the accounts anymore. Go find someone we can spend a record fee on" Nixon "but no-one on our lists is worth it if we have to pay a salary too" Charnley "just get a headline player we can say we spent real money on. doesn't matter if they're any good" Nixon "Won't that just get us more criticism?" Charnley " Dont worry about that...we can just say we spent a record fee" Nixon "ok i've got one. A lad called Joelinton, I'm good mates with his agent, and could probably get him for 22M...and that's more than he's worth" Charnley "Do it" Nixon "The agent wants a 10M cut to make it happen" Charnley " Go ahead, makes us look like we're trying"

Sorry state of affairs when we want Shola back. Although would have been better last night
  16. I must have been watching a different match last night, as I don't remember 22 shots from us at all. Do they count long passes from the back that go out of play or the opposition goalkeeper picks up as shots now? ASM had about 7 or 8 from miles out. Shows the plan up I guess then. Give it to ASM and hope for the best.

  18. But we're doing ok in possession so why aren't we winning? Stats and facts (apart from the main one) say we should be at least level
  19. But he's done a good job, and we should be happy with the points! Samptime told me so
  20. Thats what i meant with the lack of awareness thing. He probably thinks because they've improved the financial offer, then having a chance to play for your own team is enough. Quite funny in a way, as he himself passed up that opportunity many times as a player and a manager for 'football' reasons
  21. The lack of awareness really is quite something to behold.
  22. Takeover announced on 5th October then. Luckily there's no transfer windows for managers
