The press will spin it as the former, there'll be a lot of hand wringing and moaning about psr, then it'll either happen or it wont

Not disputing any of that we have massively improved and will no doubt be better this season and I'm hugely Optimistic for it. Saying we've made mistakes and had shocking luck after qualifying in the past is hardly being negative. However I'd like to hear your positive thoughts from the 97/98 season where anyone sensible could see all we needed was a decent keeper and a mild improvement to defence rather changing the whole team and giving Dalglishs mates their pension fund

What's ridiculous in there? It's all factual

Owen? (Before he revealed himself to be a total bellend) Could easily argue Woodgate as well who should have been the mainstay of England's defence if he wasn't a permacrock the second he signed for us

Was grim at the time, but a walk in the park compared to the late Pardew, Carver, McLaren and Bruce seasons

We've a poor history of making a balls up or two or terrible luck the season after qualifying for Champions league... 97/98...bad luck and poor judgement. Losing Shearer, and deciding Barnes, Pearce, and Rush would compensate 01-03...qualifies with Dabizas and O'brien, tries to improve with Woodgate who would have worked if not made of glass, and trying to phase Speed out with Viana. Supposed upgrades that didn't work out With Eddie, the worst injury crisis in history, and 2 of the main players brought in to improve being banned or injured most of the time

Didn't realise they were Guehis agent or involved in negotiations

He's not saying that, but getting to CL doesn't need CL players. Staying there and doing well in it does.

Well we did...on a few occasions
  12. Nope EH will stay. No respectable coach will take it over a club role
  13. Time we learned. Cut bait and release. Give it up as a bad job and move on. We had the same with Owen. (Yes CW is a far better human being and someone who does at least attempt to look like he wants to play for us) Point is, talented on the the pitch is great, but what's the point when you're never available to be on the pitch? Might as well use a reserve or buy someone with a decent fitness record
  14. So what happened this time? Bent over to feed the cat and ruptured his spine?
  15. And to think it was so close to Zenden and Jeffers
  16. It'll go along these lines.... I'm fully committed to Newcastle and what we've got going on, but as an English man it's always going to be difficult to ignore the call. I'm not expecting anything, but would listen however it won't distract me from newcastle' Guarantee he'll say nothing controversial, commital, or inflammatory to England or Newcastle
  17. This is not my lightsabre Hux
  18. What was that film/tv programme where fears became real? You know it's going to happen.... bet you
  19. Their whole job is to talk about football even when there's nothing to talk about. Actually have to give them credit for being able to spin out a rumour even longer than our transfer rumours thread
  20. Should have got Jonas to do it
  21. I'd like to bet (cough) that he does his achillies within 3 games

Reminds me of Withnail and I...there was some bald geezer looking for you the other day, told him you weren't here and he starts coming on really bald at me. Told him to piss off.
  23. Fresh from Edwards..."despite their names sounding similar, Bunce has no family connection to much loved bacon fancier Bruce".
  24. Sad thing is that this was the dullest tournament I've ever seen. The fact that Spain were the best in it shows how bad and cowardly every side has been. There hasn't been a single stand out blow away performance once barring Germany v Scotland. Winners by default be not being worse than anyone else
