  1. And this will be where we never see the same Miley again. M.Longstaff 2
  2. Maybe not but he's choosing to sacrifice the ones who probably need the wage most to subsidise them. Totally typical of modern business practices unfortunately and is common place in every industry....the ones who do the actual work are the easiest to sacrifice. It's not a Man U thing, just a reality of our current economy. With any luck man u will bin the guy who knows all the legacy systems thinking he's just another cog...
  3. No matter what business it is, when you're paying under performers more in a week than most of these 250 will see in 10 years, then it doesn't really suggest they're the problem
  4. https://www.football365.com/news/man-utd-set-to-make-up-to-250-staff-redundant-as-part-of-sweeping-cuts And that's how they'll pay for him

Know for a fact Neil is looking to move and won't be signing anything
  6. Gordon's difficult to read... He says the right things at the right time, but remember he allegedly went on strike to get a move to us. If there's any truth in this Liverpool guff who's to say he wasn't disappointed we didn't bend over for them. Either way if he wanted/wants to go we don't know till it comes from him. He's been a consumate professional since he's been with us and hasn't given any indication that he won't continue it. Also...what's the betting his biking accident was down to him trying to eat an apple at the same time. Ask Tonali
  7. This totally. He's had his moments for us, but not really enough to justify keeping him. It's unfortunate that Minteh would have been a great understudy/replacement, but I've got probably unguided confidence that we can find someone at least as good both short and long term
  8. Really? Just yet another example of someone we've held on too long for despite knowing he's had his best time for us. Realistically he's not going to improve now and in all likelihood will just get worse as age creeps up. We should be able to find someone as productive with their future ahead of them, not looking back at their high points. Good servant, but as many on here have said isn't going to help us progress now
  9. 🖕I know as much as that baldy git knows as you do. It'll never show up as an exact figure in accounts, as we all know they're now made so complicated you need a PHD in accountancy to decipher them
  10. Took my son to see the Sela cup last year. He loved it as we thought we were only there for one match and ended up having 2
  11. So we got something between 2m and 20m. Doubt we'll ever find out the exact figure.

Try 1988. Despite us highlighting it there is occasionally some balanced discussion on there...as long as the airport, the North sea, Nissan, player valuations and Greggs aren't mentioned
  13. With regard to ticket revenue were only going to catch up with a massive capacity increase or some new fmv country wide regulation that states you can't charge more just because London
  14. Not for Tottenham season tickets they dont. Their cheapest is 865, ours is 345
  15. No, being in London and being able to charge 300% more for a ticket will do it And unfortunately a London pound counts exactly the same as a Newcastle pound on paper
  16. This nothing short of a brilliant deal for us. A shedload of money for someone who has shown nothing spectacular at all. Yes it might be sad to see a homegrown player leave, but even Matty Longstaff showed more promise before he faded to oblivion. If we can flog such an average player for so much once or twice a season we'll be well on our way.
  17. Said exactly this before...this is Chelsea levels of shadiness and we should be pleased to have pulled it off if we're ever going to disrupt or get involved with the league power brokers
  18. International managers are pointless now. Considering that a stinkless fart like Southgate can get to semis and finals with a half decent bunch of players, might as well put Maclaren back in charge. I genuinely don't think he could have done worse than Gareth has in this tournament... Only thing I can think of which has made this brilliant bunch of players play like mackem rejects is that Tim Sherwood showed up and put Southgates stapler in a jelly
  19. We've not really lost anything. It's kind of like saying we'll play the lottery next week and getting pissed off it the numbers we might have put on come up but we didn't actually play.
  20. Well if either true we've pulled in nearly 70m for a hugely average midfielder and a kid who who's never played for us. That's a good deal even by Chelsea standards of dodgieness

Long may it continue. It's about time we started using these loophole things
  22. 35m for Anderson....wouldn't just bite their hand off, would take the arm shoulder and a good portion of the rib cage. (Do not smoke in here) That's an obscene amount for player who hasn't shown to be any better than a consistent 6/7 out of 10 and never been good enough to be a consistent starter despite coming to an age where he can't be considered a promising youngster anymore. Yes he is still young, but at 22 he should be playing a lot more if he is good enough. If we can get 35m for a player of that standard then we won't have any problem abiding by the rules
  23. In no way shape or form has Anderson proved he's good enough for us. Never good enough to nail starting position without extreme amount of injuries, and never looked great when called on. Never done anything wrong, but I can't recall him ever having any sort of impact on a game
  24. Maybe cos we're finally realising some of the 'talent'we bring through really isn't going to the best thing since Messi?
