  1. Finally someone who gets it here. Most seem stuck 20 years behind. Yes we might not have the best academy but it's not terrible, so we should be looking for a few mill for guys we're not looking to keep....just going on some of the dross we've spent money on over the years
  2. Very difficult to see the logic in this. Any truth in it suggests a lack of focus on where we need to be looking.... To coin a phrase... Worrying
  3. Oh my lord...each and everyone of us on here knows more than Edwards
  4. He was one we made look like prime Messi, but you could say the same about half of the one goal wonders from the PL era
  5. No it's not...but when we're buying a 1.2 fiesta it's not unrealistic to expect a bit more when selling a 2.0 ST
  6. Well when Championship clubs can go asking for 30-40m for youngsters with a handful of appearances I don't think it's unreasonable to be asking the same if someone actually wants them. 6m for Anderson? That's a pisstake for a reserve with no appearances now let alone a young player with a few years of senior appearances We paid 6m for a West Ham reserve, and the let one of our youngsters go to Everton for the same, so if we took that for Anderson then we are truly bigger mugs than we look
  7. I've massively overestimated our scouting team if there's anything in this. Hope they can see something I can't ala Bellamy if it's remotely true. Would be as underwhelming as Riviere, but without the prospect of finding a potentially unearthed gem. Shame we found a lump of turd with Riviere, rather than actually looking for lumps of turd which we'll find with DCL
  8. We do massively undervalue our players. It's not 2004 anymore, wherre most seem stuckso Anderson should be 20m plus by the current market
  9. No one actually knows. It's been reported they offered x. We want y. w will what we end on. All we know is Big Jim is bitching that we won't give up and accept x

Scottish and Mackem. Painful combination. Wish I could find that trainspotting clip..."it's shite being Scottish..."
  11. Happens loads where we're linked continuously and there's nothing in it
  12. 35m + DCL then maybe consider. Plus a 10m buy back clause and 20m extras if he makes 30 plus appearances. Maybe worth considering then
  13. So he's never been discussed as an option by us ever.
  14. Pretty easy when you have enough in the bank to never have to work again
  15. I've worked in both large and small companies and in my experience if a large company wants something from a smaller company the answer is inevitably throwing money at them. Having had the misfortune of dealing with Ineos, I know they like to lowball and try to litigate to death
  16. I doubt it...most CEOs are so far removed from day to day workings more often than not they haven't got a clue. One of the places I worked at the COO went on sick with stress after 6 weeks in the job and for some reason the Ceo was surprised he couldn't just sack him on the spot
  17. He's clearly come in thinking he can apply chemical industry principles and is finding out its very different
  18. Clearly hasn't got a clue about football or how to negotiate in it. Couldn't be happier he's at Man U. They'll not be getting the best players or who they actually need or want for a long time

And then the back end slipped out, I caught it with a dab of oppo and I was away.... Straight from sniffpetrol.com
  20. Well at least he's got plenty of time if it's chucking it down and he's not off down Chelsea feeding them our targets under the guise of booking his plot at the flower show
  21. It's almost as if people want to move houses sometimes. Maybe hates the neighbours, maybe he wants an extra bedroom, maybe he took the first place available when he came here and has now found a home he wants, maybe he is leaving. Means absolutely bugger all. Seem to recall Mourinho spent his entire time at Man U living in a hotel (whether that is true or not I don't know) Long and short of it is that being involved in a football team is more often than not a transient job and people can and do frequently move. It's also a lot easier for them with almost unlimited funds to pick and choose a new house on a whim, while the rest of us peasants have to generally wait for someone to buy our place before we can even look at a new one
  22. Always seemed to tear us apart with ease
  23. As I said before this game is getting too complicated for anyone but advanced accountants and lawyers to understand.... Media s*** stirrers don't help. On one hand we're bidding 60m for Olise, and on the other we haven't got a pot to piss in without selling half the first team. Is it conceivable the club actually knows more about what's available than Sky and Talksport do?
  24. Yep and Mike Ashley mkii will give you a taste of what we endured for 14 years....cost cutting everywhere, buying players for profit and not what the team adds, outstanding lack of awareness, only thing he can't or won't do is that because ineos materials aren't generally available to the public they won't be plastered all over the wreckage that is Old Trafford

Moreso I'd say. At its shortest it's a minute walk to be right there. Wallsend Byker are at best a 10 min car journey. No idea what it's like on public transport.
