  1. On current form it's a bit difficult to argue who should be replaced. Wood would be the most obvious but he's played an effective (if not goal scoring) role, and obviously Trippier isn't getting any younger, but I don't know of any right back who is as influential and effective at the moment. At least 9 of our current starting 11 are playing well enough to make themselves undroppable going into the January window

I'm green with envy. It gives me sleepless nights enjoying watching football again, while our enlightened neighbours fight the good fight against human rights violations and we.... Nope can't even be bothered to be sarcastic with it...if we want to discuss moral compasses we only have to say 'behind the Chinese takeaway'.
  3. So Mr Joelinton. As you are aware our organisation does not tolerate failure. Joe: Please Mr Howe give me another chance...play me anywhere even midfield and I'll do better Howe: Do not fail me again Mr Joelinton
  4. Think he's got a bit of a Christopher Waltz -Blofeld thing going on...all nice to the public but behind the scenes has chairs of death if the players don't perform
  5. At the moment everyone is afraid of coming
  6. Love it...we've spent forever being on the end of it and never doing it.
  7. I will freely admit i was disappointed when he was appointed, as i was hoping for a big successful name, but it's impossible to argue with his results so far which on form put him top by a fair margin. Whoever identified him as a perfect manager for us needs a medal

How is it possible to be losing and actually go up in the table. Championship is garbage this year
  9. So what's Everton's and even Liverpools excuse?
  10. Too many to choose from on recent form. Almirons got to be up there with his Joelinton like transformation from an ineffective no-where player to a wonder-goal scoring machine
  11. Could be a long list....Simon Bird for a start ;-)
  12. On form alone there shouldn't be anything to fear. However this is Newcastle....always capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory 0-0
  13. Thats a fair point regarding current position, but he's got a long way to go to be considered in the same light as Ferguson, Clough and Mourinho. We've not really had a bad run since he started, and how he deals with 3 or 4 losses on the bounce will be more revealing
  14. Whether he is or isn't the best possible is irrelevant. He is doing it well and being a gent with it, gathering a lot of affection and is already in the top 5 best we've had in the last 30 years. Also has time on his side to break in to the top 3 of Robson, Keegan, and Benitez

  16. I now no longer go to a match thinking it's going to be a spanking. Eddie is bring back the belief
  17. If Lampard has any awareness Pickford won't be playing as his fewm goes off the scale when he sets foot in St James, which in turn makes his arms shrink and his radge come flooding out
  18. It'll be close. Not expecting the annual spanking anymore
  19. He's starting to realise that what made him good in the first place is now common among teams and he can't rely on it anymore, combined with the fact that most of his best players are ageing/losing form and can't deliver quite as much as they did before. He's a bit like Mourinho in the fact that he has a cycle of a few years and his magic doesn't work anymore. Can't see him being sacked or resigning though barring an outside of top-6 finish though.
  20. Allardyce was horrific...he came here on the basis of expecting to be able to spend big money on players, but totally lacked the awareness that Shepherd appointed him purely on the basis that he built a decent Bolton team on next to nothing and was hoping for the same. Apart from his first game in charge the football was the most depressing and bland I've ever known...at least a shocking performance gives us something to talk about, but what he served up was 90 minutes of boredom and usually defeat which would make anyone not want to watch football again let alone us.
  21. We won really. They only scored one more goal than we did...The worst possible combination of Bruce and Pardew
  22. Not by a long shot. He didn't do well at all managing the team, trying to make them more defensive and solid, but did a lot of good restoring the reserves, and brought in some good players like Hamman and Solano despite not having the same level of funding seen in the preceding years. Yes Rush was a terrible idea, but Barnes and Pearce did ok
  23. It's really good not to see us as massive under-dogs for this tie for a change. More than likely we'll get VAR'd but I no longer have the fear of the traditional Old Trafford humiliation
  24. This exactly. Maddison would probably be brilliant, but now he can't be seen as extraordinary. Extraordinary would be taking a starter from a regular Champions League team
