  1. I'll let him off when a cup of tea manages a team to victory over anyone down to U8 level.
  2. It does baffle belief sometimes that the people who keep appointing him either don't see his glaringly weak record, or are too heavily influenced by media commentators who keep saying he's an 'excellent manager'. Well stupidity does cost...and as Brucey would say in the words of John Hammond..."I don't blame people for their mistakes, but i do insist they pay for them"
  3. We've been vindicated over every terrible manager since we've had since 1997....Robson, Benitez and to some extent Roeder and Hughton did good jobs Dalglish....terrible spell at Celtic, and massively underwhelming Liverpool time Gullit...never employed at the top level again for any length of time Souness....never worked again as a manager Allardyce...pretty much hated everywhere he's been since, and never lasts long Kinnear...nothing to say Pardew....1 good season despite him, abject failure everywhere since McClaren...nice bloke, but job was clearly too big for him Bruce...Loved by the media and Hull. Never considered for the best jobs despite his vast experience and tactical nous. Hated almost universally in the North East, Midlands, South Yorkshire
  4. Its an admirable skill somehow. Totally s***house, but still boosts his millions every couple of years with minimal effort. If i could do that and only had to tolerate a bit of twitter/online abuse I probably would too
  5. Seem to recall they had a knack for going for 4/5th one season to 17th the next and vice versa. Weren't they booted from the Champions League in 2005 (?) to make way for Liverpool who hadn't qualified through league but as holders?

Not....sure....where...to....direct...the....fewm. Obviously not an MLF and a Mag in disguise....all is well again
  7. Exactly there's dozens of other ex one season wonders who have a better affinity with the club. Bassong could not wait to get away as i recall. Sibierski would be more welcome
  8. Don't think he will be...he tends to walk to another club before he gets sacked. Could see it being someone like Allardyce/Hodgson/Ranieri EDIT....a quick google puts Hughes/Mourinho/Ranieri top with 4 PL sackings....probably different if you take into account the lower leagues too
  9. It's probably a good thing to get out of this rut of draws for us. Pity it's away to Fulham as it feels like we always draw against them. (may or may not be factually correct)
  10. Nothing like a good cherry pick to make something look terrible. eg that Fulham one in 2004 was a total freak result Got to remember who has been in charge for the last 5 years to explain the possession stat, and having a few standout games where we've dominated the play and lost doesn't make for 18 years of being poor. Notice the lack of inclusion of games where we've barely broken 30% possession and won?
  11. Why not? Much as I would love to see them languishing in the lower leagues forever (family stuff) I'd rather them than clubs like Wigan/Brighton/Bournemouth/WBA/Burnley/Sunderland/Us under Ashley sat there stinking up the league just trying to survive. Forest have made a mighty effort into staying up this year and will deserve it if they do. At the same time i will struggle to prevent a hernia from laughing if they go down
  12. Genuine question... Total ignorance alert, but what's the problem with his name? I know Rangers/Celtic have their weird dislike of things that don't mean squat to anyone else but haven't heard about this one

    Joelinton

Agree with this...think he over thinks and isn't quite quick enough to make it work. A blind one touch off or a first time strike is quite frequently more effective than taking a touch and looking for options....especially in a team where there really aren't that many. Probably why he's better suited to midfield...that half second difference makes all the difference. Plus the fact he can't shoot for toffee
  14. Time we got back some referees that even the players themselves were too scared to question. Pierluigi Collina for example. His stare gave me nightmares as a kid. Imagine him now....he'd make Ronaldo cry
  15. Who's Adam Pearson? Assume he's some nobody who thinks they're clever 'cos they can upload a youtube video?

And the sad thing is there's not a decent footballer among them. Even Nicky Butt and Alan Smith were 'tougher' than the dregs they are scraping out. Imagine if they actually had a properly tough player like Tiote/Batty. That would have them set for life as the 'hardest club in the league'
  17. Eurrgh....yes it's sad, but cancelling everything is a proper North Korea move. Probably does benefit us in terms of getting players fit, but cancelling matches isn't going to bring her back, and the average match going fan in all likelihood cares more about seeing football than being forced to grieve. Am apathetic towards the Royals, but we'll probably get a day off or two for the funeral, and probably a new bank holiday next year. Fully aware that this sounds cold
  18. Yep, and 'The Crown' have just guaranteed themselves a new series

    Loris Karius

Thought he already had. Seems like he's been around forever. Having looked up can see why though....he's pushing 40, and seems to have a nice set up down South. Not worth relocating for 6 months to sit on a bench when you're probably about to retire
  20. We were initially underwhelmed by Howe, given that we'd been linked to some hugely proven and successful managers, but he's proved a good fit so far, seems almost universally liked, and has built up enough good will that only a 10 game losing streak could destroy. Given time and patience, Eddie has shown he can take us places, and if we don't turn on him could quite easily be ranked up with Keegan and Robson. Considering some of the dross had pretty much since 2005 its good to have a manager who is a consummate professional, seems to know what he's doing, and most importantly is getting results. Chelsea are underwhelmed as they could realistically have gotten anyone available and DO expect instant success. Potter should/could do well for them, but he's not a 'name' and will have to deliver more quickly than his experience has shown. If they give him more than a season him/they could do good things, but if he's got the standard Chelsea 12-18 months then he is stuffed, and they are another 12-18 months behind. Hope he fails miserably

    Loris Karius

Well he's better than Darlow, but this kind of thing was almost inevitable once Dubravka left. Never seen Gillespie play to know if he's any good but would rather have Karius as a backup regardless. Yes he may have had a mare that night, but the point is he was good enough to be chosen for it in the first place.
  22. They've took chances on paper that should have improved them but didn't work out on the pitch. Their model is good in theory but it relies on big sales being replaced with cheaper and better...which is difficult to maintain long term... unfortunately for them they've started to get greedy on the fees and are now stagnating with a manager who is not everyone's cup of tea and is now becoming disruptive

    Nick Pope

Playing for Burnley is like a cloak of invisibility for the Rich 6.
  24. Our record at Anfield is truly shocking, even when they weren't that good. Possibly even worse than against Man City? Can see a good performance and losing to a ref assist, or an absolute pummelling, although not on the Bournemouth scale
  25. Hope that clause is only 1 or 2 appearances, or we'll not see a penny. Unless De Gea has a few disasters in the next few games, Dubs will probably only get a few league cup games and maybe a couple in Euro/Conference league or whatever they are in. Essentially he's swapped our bench for theirs. Maybe their Recaro's are more comfortable than ours.
