Had honestly never heard of this guy before he signed, but he's been a brilliant signing. In his current form he'd easily be knocking at the England door if he was at one of the 'traditional top six' teams.
  2. Beg to differ....lived there for 3 years and it was an absolute hole full of the angriest people i've ever known. Visited a few months back and the city centre is absolutely dire....filthy with rubbish and half the shops closed and decaying. Admittedly the areas outside the immediate town centre and by the waterfront have massively improved with lots of new developments, but a pig in lipstick is still a pig.
  3. Lewis,Murphy, and Anderson were dire last night. It was their chance to show they were worthy of being in the team and they royally showed that they werent

Dreadful last night. Would have looked better at home playing for Sheff Wed. Messed the basics so many times
  5. Exactly...demonstrated to PIf that we still need investment to be serious challengers on any front. This was an embarrassing result regardless of our team. We dominated everything should have won comfortably but ballsed it up as per classic Newcastle
  6. It's not a new thing....just picked up more now due to every moment being televised and evaluated. I seem to recall Shearer taking the ball to the corner in a match (possibly against Liverpool?) when we were winning in the 75th minute and held it for a good three or four minutes before it went out for a throw
  7. Long may it continue. For too long we've been the team willing to roll over and let the so called 'bigger teams' bag 3/4/5 goals without a whimper. We're not the team that everyone used to love playing when they need a result anymore. We're tough, mean, adaptable and incisive and it's got a lot of teams afraid that we're not just here to make up the numbers anymore.
  8. No not in the slightest...but before the break we looked and felt invincible, and losing to Leicester would be an unpleasant reminder that we're not
  9. A year ago a point would have been great, now it would just be ok. Only thing we have to fear really is that the WC might have knocked the momentum, so this could end up as anything....time to see how good Eddie really is
  10. No wonder Germany are going down the pan when he was described as their 'great young hope'!
  11. If i have to listen to the radio Justin Lockwood is awesome to hear....he's totally NUFC biased and its entertaining. Plus he did the best commentary ever after Cheick Tiote scored against Arsenal.....right up there with that Brazilian commenter who managed to make "Goooaaaallll" last a full 30 seconds From 1.01.... In my lifetime only this one is better....
  12. Quite liked the look of that Fuellkug as a long term Wilson replacement
  13. Can't tell what would be greater.....the fewm for actually filling their ground, or the piss taking that we had to ask them for a favour. Probably the former.

Pretty sure they're better at Fewm And I'm no expert in Makematics while they generally are

Do they still see that mummy's boy as their saviour?
  17. The commentary for that goal was legendary....still gives me goosebumps. "On a day where Newcastle would have take one, here they are looking for number 5, with Phillipe Albeeeeeeert.....oh absolutely glorious" Only Justin Lockwoods "Boom boom Cheick Cheick the room" comes close
  18. Don't see why anyone would want to spend £5bn on a football club if they want to make money from it....even the projected Super league money would take decades to recover the buying price without any investment in the team at all. Don't understand why the Glazers would want to sell as they get money out all the time and Man U still generate a lot of it. Are they getting greedy or just can't be bothered with the hassle given that they are no longer top 1 or 2 challengers? We were pretty darn cheap to buy (on a billionaires scale) and if PIF wanted to sell us tomorrow, they could easily double their investment, but when you're talking billions, thats still peanuts
  19. You know it would will be done in a couple of weeks days
  20. Neville was still playing in 2011? Thought he retired way earlier....didn't check though! Yes my bad. Either way its still 11 years and a lot has changed
  21. Any new signing has the potential to upset the apple cart. We just have to trust Eddie and Eales to make sure they have the ability to improve the team whist being a team player. Rabiot could be in a different environment as his reputation seems to be down to him having a loudmouthed agent. We still at this moment should be looking at players who see us as a step up from where they are, and can appreciate where we are heading, not divas from Champions League teams that just see the ££££
  22. Got to remember his playing days are about 20 years behind him now and the game is very different to when he was around. Similar to Souness in a way. Can talk a good game if they're describing how it was when they played, but way past the sell by date. I do admit that i think Souness can talk a lot of sense and be quite insightful on rare occasions, but it makes me throw up a little considering how dire he was as a manager.

"Mags bought the world cup" Given the Arg-KSA result I can already feel the fewm. It's nice
  24. We've had some pretty awesome away kits. Hated that 97-99 orange green striped one at the time but think it's stunning now... probably cos it was massively unique and had a good sponsor

It is....there's 4 ways out of it....3 take you into Gateshead, the other takes you into nothing but farmland until hitting Sunderland itself
