  1. Getting Manager of the Month guarantees defeat in the next game where we're concerned.
  2. Id respectfully disagree that Leazes Terrace is architecturally distinguished. It looks exactly the same as most of the city centre flats/apartments. If it disappeared tomorrow only a few hundred students would miss it.
  3. Why? Its a bland street with nothing distinguishing about it, and is now just student accommodation. There's no good reason for it being a listed building other than the fact that its old.
  4. Almost certain Crystal Palace or Villa will be his next job. Spurs have far to much of an ego to appoint anyone who isn't one of the 'elite' as they really do consider themselves to be one of the rich six despite their performance not justifying it in any way shape or form
  5. It seems to have come to the point that you need to a billionaire to buy a championship club. Realistically, only Gates, Bezos, Musk and that Aussie with the mines could buy outright one of Man U, Arsenal, City, or Chelsea without state backing
  6. He hasn't got enough wallpaper
  7. Why? He's the only manager to take us to a final since 1966. His record in tournaments is now the second best in England history. Totally not suited for club work though. He's got a got a good position, and a decent amount of good will, and it seems to be working well. Yes he might be an FA man, but sometimes what you want is not what you need, and he has demonstrated he is what the England team needs. Most of us were genuinely underwhelmed when Howe was appointed (be honest), but he's got us playing well, getting results, and so far seems a good choice overall.
  8. He hasn't got enough wallpaper
  9. Anyone else seeing a bit of a narrative change in the media now we're not in the relegation zone. Seems to be more and more chatter about players formerly out of reach becoming more realistic....eg one this morning saying we are ahead of Man Utd for Osihem next season https://www.football365.com/news/newcastle-go-crazy-beat-man-utd-84m-star
  10. No-one is going to buy them at that price given the current Russian association. So they're either stuck with no ownership funding, or going to bought by massive chancers Sunderland style. Either way it looks like they're going to be reigned back to their natural non-billionaire funded level for a few years. Hopefully (from their perspective) for their sake they've generated enough success to maintain themselves...although i would not be crying myself to sleep if they suddenly didn't have a penny to rub together and went bust.
  11. 1000 games, never won a thing of note, managed to piss off most of Birmingham, Sheffield, Tyne and Wear. How anyone can claim he's a good manager is beyond belief. On the plus side...he's not here anymore, but for posterity i think we can legitimately claim he's the last of the current PFMs till Lampard and Gerrard take over the mantle.
  12. All horrific situations, but the Ukraine thing is very different. This could quite easily escalate into a global ongoing war which will impact on everyone whereas Saudi/Yemen, Palestine and Qatar issues are relatively locally contained. Im fully aware those situations are far more complicated than i've made out, but a full out invasion of another country is far more significant and demands a bigger international response. Football is a minor thing, but its another niggle for the Russian people and along with everything else will make the population stand up to the loons they have in charge. And we thought Boris was bad
  13. No billionaires wealth is clear USually most of their wealth is tied into the companies that they own/founded. If Amazon suddenly disappeared tomorrow, I'd doubt Bezos would be classed as billionaire anymore, yes he'd still be massively wealthy, but he wouldn't be appearing at the top of any rich lists. Most of the Western billionaires don't have mountains of physical cash available without dodgy share selling/swapping. To quote....'it's all wallpaper'
  14. Inherited a well drilled team that had finished well Brought his own players Need 10 games Expectations too high Dust ourselves down Roll wor sleeves up No wins in god knows how many games
  15. No satisfaction to be had anywhere here. As much as we may dislike fans of other clubs, ultimately they are the same as us wanting their team to do well. We know as well as any of them that ultimately you can't choose who owns your club... Unfortunately for Everton and Chelsea, their owners have been shown to be close allies of the man most likely to start the biggest conflict since 1945
  16. Watching matches under Bruce was the most depressing boring football I've ever seen. Constantly setting up against every opponent like they were 2010 Barcelona was totally disheartening. I look forward with amusement to see what the PFM brigade come out with to defend him now.
  17. This again? Yes we might have unsavoury owners, but they're not exactly pushing for World War III like Putin seems to be
  18. Forgot he was at Hull. Wigan was a total anomaly for him where he looked like a progressive manager with a decent eye for a player
  19. Sod that. A Burnley win and we are in touching distance of the top half. If Eddie is as good as he has shown he is so far we should be looking up not down. We've shown enough form that things are now in our hands and we don't seem to have to rely on other results
  20. Hated by every club he's managed
  21. They'd never thank us for anything. The makematics would be outstanding though
  22. A one in three man would have been a godsend considering some of the dross we put up with after he left
  23. That would be awful in many ways, and glorious in several others. Imagine the fewm at us 'squatting' there for a year or so...and actually getting the ground full
  24. Trippier in there shows how influential he's been
  25. Over his time he's made a silk purse out of a pig's ear, and made Bruce's excuses look beyond feeble. Certainly worth persisting with next season no matter of the outcome.
