  1. Probably a bit of schadenfreude, but I personally enjoy it more because of how much of a mug it's made Bruce look. The media have noticed, and beyond the usual PFM defences by Sherwood/Agbonlahor etc, some outside of Birmingham, Sheffield, and up here are now starting to see what a fraud he's been. Anyway, fully deserved and onwards and upwards to a top half finish
  2. https://www.football365.com/news/opinion-premier-league-relegation-race-panic-everton-leeds-burnley First article in ages about relegation where we aren't even mentioned
  3. 2 months ago this would have been a guaranteed Chelsea win, but then it also would have been a Southampton win too. Can't call this one, we've got confidence and momentum. They could either have a massive seige mentality, or been shaken by recent events. Cant help but think at least some of their players will have been rattled by the sanctions, and no doubt been told by Tuchel to ignore it and focus on football, but it's not easy to get that kind of stuff out of your mind. We know how we'll play now, just depends which Chelsea turns up. Pressure is all on them
  4. Wasn't it Jack Nicklaus that said 'the more i practice the luckier i get' ?
  5. Ethiopia and Somalia respectfully disagree that this is the worst modern famine
  6. Well i'd mostly agree, but who would have realistically though Trippier would join us....he saw a vision, a project, and something to be part of. No doubt a huge wage will have helped. Ronaldo didn't rejoin for the money, as lord knows he can't be short of that....his re-joining was purely down to ego....coming back as a returning hero to take his old team back to the top without the self awareness to know that he wouldn't have the same stamina or fitness from his peak Madrid years, or that Man U had players with ego s as big as his (Pogba) or even remembering that the Pl plays at a much higher intensity than Spain. Any player should know that it is the team that wins games, not the individual.
  7. Well you'd think from the way the Man U fans whinged on that the Glazers were worse than Ashley. Apart from the fact that even despite them actively and obviously taking money out they still manage to spend massive fees on players and make profits every year. Most of them still think Ashley was good for us and we treated him harshly.
  8. Thats a fair point, but it is starting to look like they are just throwing money at 'star' players without any thought as to how they would actually make their team better. We threw money at Chris Wood....might not be any kind of decent player, but it can't really be argued that his presence hasn't improved out results. Man U went for Ronaldo....sold a few more shirts, but their team looks worse than before he signed as he's got this untouchable aura that insists on a team being entirely focussed on him getting the goal/assist. Unfortunately for the he is now 37, and no matter how much training and dedication he has, things will start slowing down, niggles will take longer to heal, fatigue will take longer to pass.
  9. Yet the despised Glazers are still at Man U taking out their billion a year with no serious protest, Hicks and Gillett weren't forced out, they just saw a big profit and took it despite the mild rumblings of the Kop. Ashley would be sitting pretty for the rest of the century at either
  10. Not sure on this....Man U have become basket cases, and unless they get a real manager with a proper plan they won't have the pick and choose of the best players for a fair while. We've got as much chance as West Ham of signing him...them because this season looks like a massive flash in the pan job, us because all we can solidly offer at the minute is a huge pay check. He's going nowhere
  11. Ooh...i sound a state separation debate coming on
  12. Well when you've got a friend who's being a c**t and everyone including you can see they're being a c**t you advise them to stop, but in the end they're still your friend. When you've got an enemy who's been quiet for a while, but suddenly starts bullying the little kid neighbour you stand up to them when you can.
  13. Would he balls....Glasgow is no different to Liverpool/Manchester/Newcastle/Leeds really. He'd have security coming out of his arse and no-one would be able to get near him. He could literally give fans the finger and escape unharmed (sound familiar)
  14. Plus we'll need their oil now more than ever.....
  15. Never any certainty, but i'd say it was safe to say while the West are selling them most of their weaponry to them it would have to be a big line to cross. Besides, there are huge differences between the Saudi/Yemen conflict which is mostly based on religious differences, to invading Ukraine which could easily drag the whole world into conflict. Not justifying the Yemen situation in any way shape or form, but Ukraine has bigger and far more reaching implications
  16. Well there wasn't any mass protest from the Glaswegians with his dodgy merchandising deal which i think they're still not free from
  17. No you are correct, but as long as the fans don't have a say in ownership they don't ultimately have a choice. We could have done every protest/boycott under the sun, but as long as he had they keys there was no real way to force a change in owner. Yes we could have made it more uncomfortable for him, but all he'd have had to have done to avoid that is stay off social media, and not read the papers. End of the day cold hard cash forced his sale, nothing in the media, nothing in Twitter, Facebook or anything like that
  18. There's no winners here, as much as Chelsea fans are a bunch of pigs, they don't deserve to have their club taken away because some loon who seems intent on starting a massive war happens to be mates with their owner. We should know better than most that you can't pick and choose the clubs owner.
  19. Yep, first team to ever lose opening three games and still qualify. Don't know if its been done since
  20. Him trying to cut and run back to Putin with a big load of ready cash?
  21. Ergh, I had no intention causing such a debate. I withdraw everything
  22. Competence doesn't mean you're right
  23. Thats a rather bold statement considering you don't actually know what i do or where i work, and having seen your previous posts I'd guess you either live in Leazes Terrace, or have some vested interest in it remaining.
  24. And there's a hundred more which look identical in the city going out to Jesmond. It's nothing special and should never have been granted a listed status
  25. Sky really don't want to upset the applecart of a big 6. Shame they don't realise that they'll get a shed load more interest with another player at the table
