If we have a contract with Sela which we do how do you propose we break it?
-
Listened to the athletic podcast about us and it was quite surprising tbh. Waugh and Ornstein between them were very surface level. No discussion on how ridiculous the rules are, we were slammed for our treatment of Minteh and Ornstein was parroting the north London line of well maybe we should check the communication of clubs involved in these deals it’s really alarming to me that the football media are happy to parrot this stuff, monitor clubs communication ffs can you even imagine? Also Waugh talking and parroting about cashflow? I don’t think that’s an issue for us so please don’t parrot it. We are restricted due to rules which make no sense and diminish the sporting integrity of the league that is the only reason. On a separate un related note, the FT yesterday said he the football regulator bill will be passed by labour pretty quickly so it will be interested if that impacts things.

Pre-season (2025/26) - NUFC to play Atletico Madrid in Sela Cup

Nice and Fiorentina iirc. -
Various reports indicating the deal was agreed on Friday aka when we had our FFP issues. The only way they paid us a decent amount was if it was after the cut off. lesson learnt hopefully.
-
Given Man United low ball offers previously I can’t see it being very much at all. Why would they move a lot knowing we had FFP issues.
-
[x] doubt.

No thanks. I’m generally against signing former Man United players (unless pinched from the academy). He will be on a canny wedge anarl. Paying a premium for tinos back up doesn’t make much sense.

I think another way to frame this discussion can anyone name a club in the premier league who attained consistent success (let’s set the bar low and say European qualification for say 5 out of 10 possible years) without having top 6 revenue? The point we are trying to illustrate is that it will be extremely difficult to challenge on a consistent basis and it will be a challenge to bridge the gap financial which would give us the best chance.

Toney is free this summer or next?
-
It is unfortunately it seems to face widespread opposition, any notion of moving is shot down.

Exactly with related party transaction rules in place us being owner by PIF is heavily negated. What’s more as far as I’m aware the new squad cost rules have no provision for owner investment (it’s currently what? 33m per year? From a cursory glance it appears at minimum we are 200m per annum behind the smallest of the so so called big 6, and my question is where is that 200m per annum coming from? My guess would be smaller upticks in commercial revenue plus player sales. Our growth path will have to be organic due to the rules and this is extremely difficult as it will be extremely tough to be selling players whilst trying to become even more competitive. If someone has an alternative view I’d love to hear it. in addition this is all based upon those above us not growing, if they do we need to find more. To close the gap we have to outgrow them a ridiculously tough ask.

More. We need more.
-
They aren’t thick at all. They obviously lack some sense and experience but ultimately they are haphazardly building a high quality squad full of young talent. Some will work out some won’t but that’s the nature of football. the biggest risk they have is they are all youth no experience which will cause issues
-
I don’t think so. I think we would need the clause value at least. He’s got a long contract and they have form for paying out clauses.
-
Aye of course. Doesn’t mean he will come cheap.
-
Nah if Bruno wants to leave we will sell that I’ve got no doubt.
-
He’s meant to be really good but I think the challenge of the premier league for defenders means it can go either way. It they do get him it will be a big commitment in terms of both salary and fee they’d need him to come good. It’s also why those big clubs love Psr, they can take these really expensive gambles without a second though, because they generate so much revenue. The fact they’ve tied spending to previous success from a period of no regulation is really something, they pulled a master stroke whilst the others nodded it through.
-
The Liverpool lad is untouchable it seems as for Kilman I doubt it, I think he’s slight outside of the age group we are aiming for.
-
Unlikely, too expensive for us. Will be on a massive wage at Bayern.
-
This is a very pessimistic way of looking at it like. We probably have a list of players who we deem would fit and the first two are definitely on that list. As for the Italian if the rumours is coming from that side I wouldn’t put too much stock in it.
-
Romano said the same, less than 10m.
-
Matt Hughes from the sun saying less than 10m
-
Aye nothing will happen either don’t you worry. If we believe the reports they offered us 50m + Kellehar (who they value at 27m) so a package of 77m, our response was the offer wasn’t serious and this is when we were separate. TLDR Gordon is too expensive to buy for other clubs.

You don’t spend 45n on a 22 year old to give out 3.5 year deals it will be 4.5 at least with 5.5 being the most likely.

Yeah but the Northumbria FA only moved out last month, so I can’t knock them for not doing anything with they IF that is Indeed the plan
