  1. His chance to ever manage a big club again if it goes tits up. Easier to take the job under the Glazers tbh your spending the same sums as you were except ineos seem far more trigger happy.
  2. Leading story on the FT Behind the paywall though.
  3. Makes a big difference as need them to invest 1b+ in our infrastructure.
  4. We are probably a year too late on selling someone if I'm honest. Once squad cost comes in we are going to be up shits creek. It's alright though we keep handing out new contracts giving massive pay increases.
  5. Exactly so the mistake is a compound one, Wilson should have been moved on after the good season he had when he was worth something. Now he will end up leaving for nothing. And their was nothing stopping us replacing Wilson and letting Wilson become the third choice, we need to promote competition nobodies place in the team should be sacred, this is how you become complacent. it's been said repeatedly we have to learn to become good sellers but as of now we still haven't learnt that simple lesson. Let's hope Paul Mitchell understands these concepts.
  6. I feel bad for the lad, came here to be third choice but obviously isn't trusted to perform that role so his ass will be well and truly wedded to the bench. Things obviously can change but as of now why we have any consideration for Wilson is absolutely beyond me, he's probably the most unreliable player in the league and placing any importance on his presence is obviously a stupid mistake. We didn't need a third choice striker at all we need an option who can stay fit and rotate with isak and provide us with other options up front.
  7. Thanks Frogman, didn't see anything of you lot but you have dodgy Jim at the helm so this has probably been in the works for awhile. Listened so some Gold bridge who seems to put this at the feet or the players but he's probably the goat engagement farmer so usually takes his with a handful haha. Thoughts on Anorim?
  8. We don't know what he's being instructed to do, he's obviously out of form mind. Couple of glaring issues are our wide players love to sit very wide and given our central midfield is pretty flat and our defenders love to back off it often leaves him with a 30 yard radius of emptiness. I think overall our team needs a lot of work which we were expecting last summer. I remember the reporting around January this year that big changes were planning for the summer and obviously nothing materialised, rather like our stadium and our training ground and out adoption of multi club
  9. Thoughts on what went wrong and where you expect you will go from here?
  10. No deep dive on this from @Froggy consider me disappointed.

My friend I'm not sure what point your making, of course we can't easily buy players from clubs who are under no pressure to sell easily, but this applies to the entire league hence my examples of Arsenal and Chelsea paying huge sums for great players they didn't want to sell. If you flip the script if we'd offer 100m for Bowen west ham would take it.

I think naturally other clubs will try and get as much money out of us as possible, this is exactly what happens when a Man united comes knocking. Of course the have shitty attitudes us being good is bad for business of those top 6 clubs however I'm under no illusions that if they could pass on some rejects to us they happily would. Your second paragraph seems to refer to our attractiveness is as a destination ? My underlying point refers to us saying other PL clubs don't want to deal with us, which isn't the case imo. They just want to take us to the cleaners which is business.
  13. I find his return quite disappointing if I'm honest. They've had over a year to bed him in yet he doesn't influence the game anywhere near enough. I thought he'd hit the ground running but it just hasn't been the case.
  14. Miley definitely has an eye for a pass, I'm not sure how good he is driving at defences from the hole though or finding those pockets of spaces.

Yes my point was clubs will deal with us on their own terms which is precisely what has happened, no anti Newcastle bias exists purely because it's business. Every club has agency hence we can't buy players which aren't for sale, this goes for all clubs. All sales are done on a willing buyer willing seller basis.

That illustrates my point perfectly, clubs are willing to deal with us on their own terms, the exact same scenario occurs across the league everyone is watching out for themselves. Nobody is doing anyone favours it's just we love to play the victim.
  17. Our lack of any creative 10s become an issue then. Im trying to think would be the least bad option. Wilock maybe? But he has looked a shadow of himself since returning.

This clubs don't want to sell to us narrative is clearly bullshit mind. Given most of our signings are from other British clubs. Clubs don't want to sell good players for cheap regardless of who's buying them. You can ask Arsenal how much of a favour west ham did doe rice or Chelsea the big favours they've received from Brighton. Premier league clubs by large and rich amongst the richest in the world they don't have pressure to sell on the cheap.
  19. Of course no guarantees exist but persistent with a underperforming manager (I'm not saying Eddie is my point is more general) and hiring a new manager to replace said underperforming manager are two sides of the same coin. After all, no point doing the same thing over and over and achieving the same results all whilst maintaining your way is right.
  20. I haven't seen anyone come out and say they want him gone, I see a lot of concern about the direction which is understandable or should be. And I dislike thes comparisons to the FS era whereby the decision makers had absolutely no clue about football. We aren't going to go and appointment a PFM if Eddie is sacked.
  21. All fair points for my money, I'd need to see signs of things function prior to make any sort of commitment personally. The tactical approach yesterday was a mistake imo. We've been poor away from home for a long time now, if that continues hes in the bin for me, ultimately we have to progress and unfortunately his remit is to probably overachieve if he's unable to do that anymore we probably need to move on. Basic things like set pieces are Pardew area rancid and that isn't excusable.
  22. Fair enough. I think sometimes manager just reach a natural point where it's better to move on and we are heading in that direction. lets see how it plays out.
  23. You think we are making Europe next season?
