I don't understand why we are annoyed at the lack of incoming transfers. What Ashley actually said in his interview was Rafa could spend every last penny the club generates. To me that was using the future tense so it's money the club has yet to generate that Ashley was pledging not the transfer profit from our promotion season.

We all know that NUFC just don't do incoming transfers on deadline day.

We will be fine. We've shifted a lot of dead wood out and brought in some quality players. It's not Charnleys fault the transfer market has gone mad. I mean we wanted Cairney and Fulham apparently turned down our bid of £20m although it's more likely that we bid £10m.

Trying to be positive we have got rid of some dead wood and signed some cracking players in Atsu Lejeune Merino Joselu. Looking forward to seeing merino and Shelvey in midfield . Get yedlin back from injury and sign a left back before 11pm and i reckon weve done very well especially if colback goes. Only downside is Diame hasn't gone...yet

Seems to me that he's having a go at the EPL and that laughable rule called FFP. The clubs owned by oil rich owners just circumvent the FFP rules. It was fairer before FFP was brought in.

Got to remember that our transfer kitty is not a bottomless pit. Yes we have tried to buy the players rafa has targeted but even rafa must accept that there is a limit to what we can reasonably pay for our targets

When it comes to signing players we have to remember that we missed out on the EPL tv money in may just gone. I think most mid table teams got something in the region of £170m whilst we got a parachute payment of around £70m so it's no surprise we can't compete in the transfer market. As for Cairney it's no surprise Fulham won't sell for £20m when they will get £170m tv money if he helps them get promoted and they are my favourite for promotion.
