The scousers must be desperate to offload this sicknote. He's always been injury prone when at man City then also at Chelsea. Now at Liverpool it's plain to see that whilst he is a talented striker his body can't stand the rigours of professional football. Time for him to retire on medical grounds in my opinion.

The only person with a football background at the upper echelons of the club is McClaren. At least last season we had some points on the board and got dragged into the relegation fight but this time the team seems incapable of gaining any points so it looks as though the rest of the season will be a fruitless battle to retain our EPL status, but frankly we just don't deserve to survive based upon our feeble performances. To be honest I don't think these players would survive in the championship. They have got no backbone whstsoever so we could be looking at league 1 in a couple of seasons unless this lot are binned next season. As an aside Mclaren should be ashamed of the completrly inept performances his side keep on producing.

The really worrying aspect of our team is there is no one in the side who will take the game by the scruff of the neck and drive the team forward. In other words not a single leader on the pitch which means we will be relegated. I believe it will be villa us and Norwich who go down because the mackems have got goals in them. We haven't.

Remember how he blamed Armstrong, when we got beat by Manchester United ? No it was Abeid who he blamed for passing the ball to Krul in the area, who then miskicked it straight to Rooney who scored the only goal in the 93rd minute. Can't go blaming an international goalkeeper who is your number one choice. Lets blame the youngster who had a cracking game in midfield against some top players, but who then made the mistake of thinking he could rely on our goalkeeper to clear our lines.

The real reason why I disliked AP was because he came in at NUFC and immediately started telling the fans that our expectations of challenging the top 6 was unrealistic and that we should be content with a side that just about managed to finish lower mid table and that any draw or win against a top ten side was a bonus. He basically dumbed down expectations and, when we occasionally exceeded those expectations, because the players were in fact perfectly capable of challenging the top 6 teams, despite what AP led the media to believe, he took all the plaudits which made him look like a good manager, when in fact any half decent manager could have produced the same or better results with the same players. But what I really disliked about him was his tendency to absolve himself of all blame where results were not going our way, and to select the flair players or youngsters ( Ben Arfa, Mehdhi Abeid ring a bell anyone) as the reason for the teams failings, rather than his long ball tactics. The man is all talk nothing more. I would love it if he got the England job so everyone could see what a fraud he really is.

I'm really quite excited by this signing and not that bothered we didn't get Berahino. I really think he will turn out to be the best sign of the transfer window. Don't know why....just a gut feeling.

When you think we paid a world record £15m for Shearer twenty years ago in 1995, £25m these days doesn't seem that much. Not that I'm saying Berahino is anywhere near as good as Shearer.
