Once again genuine question, what if this was just not possible? What if we had discussions with players/agents and everything checked out but their respective clubs gave us the cold shoulder until January? The only problem for me here is are we working through earmarked alternatives or have they just put all their chips on number 1 targets? Whilst that's great they know who they want, and if links are to be believed they are pretty decent looking signings, our position is perilous right now. What I would pay to read the new owners thoughts right now. Had they planned a relegation contingency and are comfortable if not a bit irked if it happens. Had they not even considered relegation and thought we could stave it off and are now getting cold feet. For being an almost unpredictable player, he's predictably unpredictable. He never seems to use the easy out, in fact he even struggles to pass when he does realise he has teammates. Definitely in the flawed genius camp.

Burnley fans are mixed on this it seems. Most think he's after a move so has downed tools a bit so makes sense to try and rinse us now. Others are rightfully nervous as he has scored 10+ goals for them every season and when you're at the bottom you need that kind of goalscorer in your ranks. It's also a relegation rival attempting to weaken you. They are quoting 20m+ on that forum which just sounds rank tbh. I'd be for it if it was a fairly low cost solution as realistically he would make a sound 2nd choice, possibly first choice for Watford whilst we work on something bigger. Can't believe I'm weighing up the merits of Chris wood, was that takeover all a dream.

I think this is behind a lot of the pure rage yesterday like. (We also lost to a struggling league 1 side) The man u performance, Trippier signing and a strong team set us up for what we hoped would be a welcome win and a solid performance to carry us into this next massive run of games. In true Newcastle fashion we've went all in and came up massively short, to the point we seem in a worse position than when we started Keep the faith and remember how you couldn't even be arsed to be this annoyed not that long ago.

Watched it but didn't come straight on here after full time, to make sure I didn't just post petty shit. My take, first half was perfectly fine. Good plays getting into dangerous areas almost at will. Big Jow having a few PTSD moments but still helping things tick by. ASM taking the piss which I could let go because we were creating some good chances and the goal was a case of when not if. Then it became apparent that we don't have a natural finisher in the team, like nobody can actually get a clean shot away, ever. This coupled with their keeper not just rolling over and you could see the teams confidence just sapping away. This team is totally engulfed with a losing mentality for me. As soon as some good work doesn't bear fruits they shit their collective pants and try and force the matter, it's a comfort blanket almost. We need to shake it up and remove the spine of this team, it has to be ruthless and no pity party from owners or Eddie. Few other observations... Murphy wasn't terrible and can strike a ball, it just seems like he's the almost man. Almiron, well, I've stuck up for him plenty over the years but that was as blatant ball chasing and no idea as I've ever seen. Kids football. Trippier was good, he is surrounded by clueless shit. Willock, pillock.
