Easy passes aren't always good passes.

Not sure what people want from him half the time. He made runs last night that had nobody really showing for the ball ahead of him. Wood especially didn't look for the ball he looked to make space for ASM to shoot. If he wasn't trying to shoot or beat players he'd have to turn and drop it back 30 yards to Shelvey most of the time.

Exactly this. If you're sacking him you do it straight after or the day after the last game, you don't wait a week and do it on the eve of the next game. And if that game was a final straw thing you'd at least get things moving on looking for a replacement. There's definitely been an argument or something and the owners have made a bit of a rash decision.

There was a point towards the end where all our players were knackered and not pressing and then you just saw Bruno sprint past 2 or 3 of our own players and charge into a tackle. Absolutely shattered and still flying round the pitch like a nutter. I love this guy.

OTC is the only one I bother with now. Brassell is class and I don't think they've had a guest on I don't like (Even Miguel Delaney seems alright when he doesn't have the opportunity to rant about us and City). My only issue is Dotun absolutely torturing the fuck out of his links and segues. The other week it took him like 5 tries to recite a bit of Romeo and Juliet for no reason other than someone had mentioned Verona. He does it all the time too. Fucking know your audience mate! Nobody is listening to a football podcast for the Shakespeare. I know he's just trying to add a bit of fun but I wish he'd fuck off with the food recommendations too.

If I was being VERY generous to Wood I'd say maybe he's been told to flick the ball on as high up the pitch as possible, into the corners or whatever to give the rest of the team that little bit of time to push up and press... Seems like a daft plan but I'm grasping at straws trying to think of any reason he plays the way he does.

It's the little stutter in his run just as the defender looks at him. Forces the defender to change direction then glides past him to go for the header. Proper strikers goal.

The team massively inflated Sissoko's statistics by playing absolutely everything down his side. He regularly passed the ball behind runners causing them to collect the ball in unfavourable places and get tackled. It was so infuriating at the time seeing people tout his statistics as a positive when most of the successful passes he made were hospital balls or broke down the flow and most of his runs ended up with him on his arse because he was incapable of changing direction.

Wouldn't say no to Bartlomiej Dragowski as a backup for Dubs. Kept an eye on him since that mad Empoli v Atalanta game a few years ago where he faced 47 shots. Seems weirdly in and out the team at Fiorentina. Also he looks magnificent and I reckon he'd end up a fan favourite based solely on the beard.

Andy Brassell makes a good point about the state of players leaving for free these days. It's all due to how much the wages are costing. Take Juve and Dybala for example. Yeah they could offer him a new contract and yeah he'd probably take it. But if he wants a million a month for 4 years that's £48mil they're spending on him. They're basically gambling on being able to spend that money on somebody cheaper who won't be injured as much. They're not arsed about renewing so they're able to sell him because the way they look at it he's already turned down moves previously so there's a good chance he ends up running down that new contract again.

Wolves gave them 6mil or something (plus wages) to loan Trincao then sent Traore the other way for nothing. Sevilla gave them De Jong for next to nothing. Look at the amount of players who've signed on a free for them this last year. You can say that's them going there for the money but if that's what you're after do you really want to be signing for the club in very public financial trouble who've been asking their current players to slash their wages?
