  1. Chris Wood, Jonathan Walters, Sam Vokes, Ben Mee, James Tarkovski, Charlie Taylor - the list goes on. Exactly. They are an established PL side with a solid squad, we've just come up from the Championship, spent next to nowt in the Summer and suddenly we have better players than them. Some people need to get a grip. Their side is mostly made up of championship and football league signings. More recently they got players with prem experience but nothing to shout about in Bardsley Cork and Walters. Equally they lost two huge players for them in Michael Keane and Andre Gray. They are nothing superior to us, they have just managed to make things click gritty determined and not afraid to play any sides big or small, the fact they are doing well is down to their manager and mental approach to games. Suddenly pretending to ourselves they are a team of world beaters is a bit far fetched, all This established premier league players, fair enough we spent a season out of the league when they had one extra, is it such a gap they opened in that time. Fucking hell at the start of the season if we went for Cork instead of Merino, and Walters, or Bardsley instead of other signings we would have had some moaning. Florian Lejeune Christian Atsu Jacob Murphy Javier Manquillo Mikel Merino Joselu Their big buy was Wood who was championship top scorer. We had a player who was on a similar tally carrying the same sort of goalscoring form up from the championship from the same season (Gayle). Their last season they just managed to survive with 40pts and close to the relegation. I don't beleive us and Burnley are suddenly worlds apart. We just haven't managed to get it right with our new signings. Most of our championship side or if you put out our best championship side from last season would probably perform better. I cant see much in the new signings that made any drastic improvements. Merino is a tidy player but lately this week and last week he has been responsible for two goals shipped. And his form is wank since he returned from injury. Anyways fuck it I need to get a grip I think this is a false equivalence, Burnley are a small club with limited attraction for top players. Dyche has done a great job of organising them, but in a way, his lack of funds has helped him. He's got a bunch of hard working players with solid temperament which is easily overlooked. We wouldn't want to be buying a lot of their signings if they were available at the time, and you could argue Dyche wouldn't want them either if he was at a bigger club. Do they have a much better side than us or are things just going well for them at the moment?

  3. 3 games we take early leads then seem to forget what to do. If the instructions are go get the early goal then hold the game out thats mental in the premier league with the quality you face each week. Im not sure what we are trying to do when we get ahead. Sometimes in going ahead its worse, because these lads seem afraid to keep going, push for more goals. If they have to try and remain super diciplined its too much of an ask, we would need a 2 or 3 goal lead to grab a goal and contain sides at this level. Id love to know what our strategy in games of late is supposed to achieve.
  4. Was an attempt to see how many would select Jonjo. My pal says he would be his first pick. Personally after JL id be tempted to say Jonjo
  5. Ok so those picking Lascelles. Who else other than him?
  6. Out of curiosity im interested to know if you were making the team selection for match days who is the first name or first two on the sheet
  7. The argument always seems to be Pardew,Rafa, Ashley or transfers etc etc. Burnley have a totally average squad and a far less decorated manager who is making the best of it. You can’t compare our squad with theirs FFS! They have average PL players, we have good Championship players. They also have a shitload more experience than we do, which makes a huge difference. People want to make the argument hes making the best of what shit hes got. Leaving Shelvey out in my opinion isnt making the best. Shelvey is lethargic at times but he can change a game. Burnley have a load of championship players. They just work harder and are unified. That's probably why they wouldn't play Shelvey though isn't it? He's not exactly hard working. I was referring to the whole side, not one player. All sides will have a luxury player. In our case and I mentioned my opinion Shelvey should start games. Theres many many players who perform poor and still get a pass. Merino has been fairly poor since he returned from injury. Maybe I should have said work harder for each other. No point arguing, its easy to see Rafa loves punishing certain players over others. Bringing Mitrovic on for 6 minutes Love the instant come backs, now Burnley have a mutch better squad, really? They just grind results and dont fear sides.

  10. embarrassing fan boy stuff Says the person with " In staveley we trust" Fucking cringe bomb. fair play you've got zero idea of what a joke is Could have said the same about yourself when i was pissing around about Lingard. Pissing about. You were seething about a dance. I did think it was gay. Tbf I was more pissed at thet college drop out prick weighing in. Such a mouthpiece.
  11. Think it’s s case of Rafa trying shoehorn in Joselu. If he wanted to buy a number 10 why didn't he just not buy Joselu for 6m and buy a average number 10 at 6m. Just seemed daft to bring in another forward, and not the position you actually wanted to fill. Im sure that Brazilian player in La liga would have not broke the bank. Cant think of his name.

  14. Leicester look so comfortable. Main thing we need to do is try and stop giving possession away right after getting it.
  15. Don't think Gayle has the skills to play behind the striker, he's a finisher. I'd like to see us try Shelvey, Hayden and Merino all together. Hayden covering behind giving the other two license to get forward and support the attacks. Get what you are saying. I dont see gayle as a 10. I was thinking more on a li e up lime that more of a front two with Mitrovic the target and gayle the pick up guy. Bit like Tosh and Keegen. I get it would never happen in this day, and Rafa doesnt take risks.
  16. It doesn't really matter what we think of past or last seasons transfers and this seasons, and the current squad. The fact right now is, there isnt one player now we are in the premier league who you could argue is an absolute asset, high value or a must who you would build a squad around. I mentioned this in a different topic, not one of them is indispensable. If the right kind of offer came along and you have a small budget for squad improving you would simply have to consider flogging any of them if the risk to stay in the league is of most importance. Id stick my neck out and say Jamaal Lascelles is our most valuable player based on him being English(on the crust of international call up),young, already a captain and signed on a new long term deal helping to push his value. The only way Raffa is getting a big budget is to flog a high value player, or hope someone wants to purchase dregs like Haidara Saivet Colback etc. I mean seriously that could take you all window to shift those shithouses on. If chelsea came in with 25/30m for Jamaal, would Rafa be tested?
  17. If it'll be done it'll probably be the summer if we're still a Premier League club. Money has to be available next month to ensure that though. Rafa may be able to work with the figure Craig Hope has been told he'll get if Ashley still owns the club next month and will be able to garner more from sales, which will be Mitrovic and hopefully plodders taking up a wage such as Colback. Yeah seriously though there are some players here that need moving if they are likely not to ever be used. Haidara,Saivet,Colback as you mentioned. I think we could seriously sell any player if the price was right, there is no player here that is indispensable. Take Perez for example what the hell is his real role, the lad used to be a promising striker, he is now a nothing footballer, minimal chance creation, not enough goals, not enough assists, falls to the ground if he feels perspiration hit him.
  18. Does this this 20m include any extras from outgoing players? Colback,Haidara,Saivet,Diame, im sure he'd love to flog Mitro.
  19. I get the feeling it will happen in the summer, unless Ashley is prepared to offer January funds with Pcp paying him back if we stay in the premier, and if not then dont pay him jack. And that will be the evidence he got the valuation completely wrong. Id just say take 250 now and fund Benitez with a further 50m, if the club stay up we give it you back totalling 300m. If not then he cant be serious about selling us. He must know no further investment will see us go down, because Rafa will lose interest fast.
  20. If he values it at 380m, and they value it at 250m. Just meet in the middle 315m
  21. Karl Oyston has Blackpool up for sale right now. Its alleged they are only looking around 30m price
