  1. Man City fans have got to be the most bizarre lot in terms of actual passion and excitement. At least Arsenal fans get angry all the time Man City are very much a brand these days and their really poor atmospheres evidence that.
  2. Man City did win the title because of the result tbf Irrelevant when it was a total minging game and Man City weren’t even playing today
  3. I preferred the old thread, tbh.
  4. I’ve been critical of him before but he’s been absolutely fantastic during this run. Hope he keeps it up. Brilliant.
  5. https://www.gofundme.com/wor-flags-end-of-season-display Just wanted to plug this for them again like Hopefully we can meet that target by the end of next week and allow the lads as much prep time as possible.
  6. Aye. It’s the best possible scenario next like - a home draw against these utter tossers.
  7. Aye Almost everyone outside of Newcastle will have no idea what the reference is. I'm from Newcastle and had no idea, had a season ticket for 8 years and been going since 1997 How old is the song, like? Fairly old. It gets sung probably once or twice a season in a pub before an away game, other than that it very rarely gets an airing.
  8. Doubt it. Would not be surprised at all like
  9. Bet the Man City fans have just broken out into a ripple of gentle applause to celebrate that.
  10. Just totally sums them up as a club like.
  11. Nah. Sadly not. Can we catch Burnley though?
  12. Aye Almost everyone outside of Newcastle will have no idea what the reference is.
  13. We spent £90m in the Championship last season, apparently.
  14. With a lot of the teams still to play against each other, is it even mathematically possible that we can go down if we win tomorrow? Southampton and Stoke can get a maximum of 15 points (meaning 43 would actually be survival). We’d be on 41 tomorrow. But Stoke have to play Palace, Swansea & West Ham, Southampton still have to play Swansea etc. And 8 teams would have to overtake us for us to finish in the bottom 3. They all cant pick up points and overtake us if they have to play each other. It’d be a huge bit of maths to work it all out But it’d be one bizarre set of results, if it is possible at all? Edit - Just had a proper look and aye, it is possible we could go down but it’d require such a bizarre set of results that it’s never in a million years going to happen.
  15. Just realised that they’ll be playing against AFC Wimbledon, Accrington Stanley & Fleetwood next season
  16. Just seen that McBurnie’s pathetic dive against Bolton today. Should be sent off there. A yellow for being a tosser and a second yellow for that ridiculous playacting.
  17. Would we be where we are if mitro had of started all the games? Hmmm, I doubt it. Don't even know why this is an issue to be honest, all parties are happy. I’m not necessarily advocating for Mitro to start every week, as I said, Gayle/Perez suit our system better. Do I think we’d have more points if Mitro had played the minutes that Joselu has? Yes.
  18. So the potential of 6 stoppages in a game? Each lasting up to 5 minutes? Fuck that. Plus, managers would use their VAR appeals tactically. If they are holding onto a 1-0 lead with minutes remaining and getting battered, they’d just VAR any decision to break up the play. Just don’t implement it at all. Stifler is spot on with what he said.
  19. Don’t think I’ve seen any ‘graft’ from Joselu without the ball other than his debut. He’s inferior in every way possible like. The softest big striker I think we’ve ever had. I could understand Mitro being ostracised if we had a better option than him at the club, we don’t. You can argue Gayle and Perez suit Rafa’s style better, which I agree with - but Gayle’s goalscoring has been atrocious at this level and Mitro even in his debut season has a much better record at this level. Mitro and Perez complement each other really well too.
  20. Why are people even discussing the possibility of them staying up? Worried about Bolton’s form ffs The mackems have won 1 in 15 and people suddenly expect them to win 3 out of 3, including against 2 of the best sides in the league?
  21. Why do clubs announce attendances based on tickets sold/given away? Is there any benefit for them to do so?
