  1. They must be the most irrelevant club to everyone, they do nothing every year other than scrape relegation. Does anyone in the league (even the likes of Bournemouth, WBA etc) worry about playing the mackems?
  2. Antonio is never a defender, why play him there fgs
  3. Well everything about this game is terrible.
  4. Lumbered with our most effective player by an absolute mile. Depends how you define 'effective' really...
  5. That's how I read it. Or maybe NUFC were referring to the fact that he's already in the process of moving elsewhere.
  6. The ref for this is Andrew Madley... Bobby Madley's brother lets hope he got the brains in the family.
  7. Where is Remy, is he just completely overlooked now? Is he even arsed about playing football? Why hasn't he moved on?
  8. "Witnesses" are often wrong. Not saying they are in this situation, but quite frequently they are. But no, to answer your question - that isn't standard practice. How do you know the police were "a little trigger happy" in this situation? What a completely ridiculous post. The circumstances leading to Atkinson's death will be investigated and if there are problems with how the police dealt with the situation, then they will be dealt with accordingly. To speculate about the circumstances is daft, especially when we are discussing the loss of a life. Tasers are a useful piece of equipment for police officers as an alternative to shooting somebody. The Taser should only be deployed where there is a risk of harm. Sadly, the police don't have the opportunity to ask each individual that they Taser if they have taken any drugs and/or have any heart conditions that may cause them to die during the process. Usually, they are deployed in a crisis situation where there is no alternative.
  9. He's just a nothing player who doesn't really ever contribute good or bad. A complete waste of a place in the starting 11, at least Tiote/Anita/Shelvey may actually do something (albeit rarely).
  10. I hope a lot of people took them thinking that they could use them all season and they are brought back into SJP on Wednesday. Some sad little people in this world, sadly, no matter how this is run there will always be the odd idiot(s) who try to ruin it by doing something ridiculous. Great effort though, well done. I hope this continues all season as there was a huge build up for the game on Saturday, I don't want it just to fizzle out.
  11. Cannot believe he hasn't got a goal or assist yet, he's an attacking player man! Sell him.
  12. I wouldn't class that as a bad result, they finished second and we were away from home. I thought it was a good result at the time and you can't really draw comparisons as Fulham will not finish 2nd this season. It wasn't a bad result, but we looked quite crap in that game iirc. I think both Huddersfield and Fulham will do okay this year, they'll be mid-table/pushing for the playoffs imo. In the grand scheme of things, we're two games in. I never take note of the table until after 10 games, because it doesn't usually take shape until then. Was it Man Utd under Fergie who had a period of starting really badly? But then won the league anyway.
  13. Caulkin has been spot on so far this summer. Would love us to go in for both of these, I'll be interested to see who our targets are if its not either of them as they are both very good at this level.
  14. I can only assume that those players not featuring are not performing well in training or have poor attitudes/some sort of problem. When Rafa came in, all players were effectively given a clean slate. He's obviously made a judgement on them after seeing them every day.
  15. A lot of the time Shelvey tries his Hollywood pass because he's had the ball for a few minutes and there is no fucker moving in front of him, or he's given it to a team mate and they've ran in a circle and passed it straight back to him. We have such a losing mindset at the moment, I've said it so many times but after a couple of wins we'll be bouncing and the players will look entirely different.
  16. He'll get one of his lucky wins against Spurs.
  17. But TCD, none of that is 'knowing the league', it is about knowing the team you are working with. Rafa doesn't need to 'know the Championship', he just needs to know his best 11 and best tactics for each game.
  18. Facile view imo. League nous can be over emphasised but it does exist. What a load of bollocks. On your view, Sean Dyce would be a better option to Rafa? Because he has Championship knowledge? That is apparently very different from winning in any other league in the world. felix magath struggled hugely in this league despite his reputation and experience. Because he was in charge of a faltering Fulham side who sold all of their best players, nothing to do with 'knowing the league'. They also bought the best striker in the division. And had gaping holes of crap in nearly every other position. What happens in League One? Do you need a knowledge of League One to suceed? Why are players like Payet so successful in the Premier League with no experience of it? How did Mourinho ever suceed in any job, he had no experience of the league when he started each role. Huddersfield have started very well under their manager with no Championship experience.

  21. I really hate this 'he knows this league' shit, what is there to know about it? It's a football league with football teams in it, exactly like the Premier League although the standard is lower. You don't need to have 60 years experience playing or managing in the Chmapionship to do well in it.
