I like how they’ve all twisted his comments about ‘substantial’ investment. His quotes were actually talking about providing the mackems with a similar amount of investment that he did at Eastleigh - £10m Wew. He also refused to give Eastleigh any more and said they needed to be self-sufficient. He’s a low-scale Mike Ashley.

What were they? -
Oh aye, but there’s no need for the media to misquote them and cause unnecessary panic and flapping. We’ve got all summer to stir that up ourselves.
-
That quote isn’t actually accurate though is it. They said “had” an advantage, rather than “have”. From what I read in the minutes they were talking about the low spending this year, not future spending.
-
To be fair, the club aren’t going to come out and say “we’re gonna give Rafa £80m to spend” or “aye, Rafa will sign a new deal next week” in a public forum The questions raised by the fans forum were the problem, not the answers. If they want to tirelessly ask the same questions, they’ll get the same answers.

They need to be typed up and agreed by all those present, a week is reasonable like.

Do NUFC Need To Change Away Ticket Criteria?
Figures 1-0 Football replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
Some clubs work on a set basis, ie: Tues 1 May @ 10:00 - 100 points Tues 1 May @ 14:00 - 90 points Wed 2 May @ 10:00 - 80 points Wed 2 May @ 14:00 - 70 points etc. etc. They release the dates for all of the point drop thresholds, including member and general sale and it’ll either get that far or it wont. Allows people to plan ahead too, rather than waking up randomly to see it’s dropped to 0 points. -
Do NUFC Need To Change Away Ticket Criteria?
Figures 1-0 Football replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
It’s perfectly fine like. Go to away games, build points and get access to the more lucrative fixtures, simple. Those who buy STs should be rewarded with early access and those who attend away games more frequently deserve even earlier access - it all makes sense. I have sympathy with those who cant have a ST due to work, financial, location, family or whatever reasons - but if you dont attend games why should you be prioritised ahead of those who do? The only addition to the current system I’d recommend would be 50 or so tickets held back for each away game where fans without STs/memberships/the points required can apply for them and just randomly allocate them. -

Based on those figures, we only have 24,062 ST holders? That can’t be right surely? Unless there are 10,000+ fans with 0 points, which I’d be surprised at. -

Krul was crap before his injury, impossible to say if he’d have done any better than Elliot/Darlow imo.

Was at a family party yesterday, so completely missed all of this. Positive for them in the sense that they’ve got rid of Short and all of the debt. But is this bloke the answer? I don’t know much about him and don’t know the other investors, but his net worth is what? £10m? I also cant imagine the investors are major players in footballing terms if they’ve bought the mackems on the cheap. From his previous work this bloke doesn’t seem to have major wealthy contacts either, but all of this is based on very minimal research. It’d concern me if we were taken over and we didn’t know who the investors were, to be honest. As with everything in football, only time will tell on whether or not this is great news for them. I would be delighted if it transpires as I think it will and this is a League One ownership for a League One club.

Are stadiums ever profitable? They needed a stadium. They have a stadium. Now they have the option of have stadium + ticket sale profits, or use stadium + no(?) ticket sale profits. The relevant part is not how much it cost to build, but how much they expect to make from sales. They also earn a substantial amount by letting the NFL, boxing, concerts etc. take place there. Aye. I've just got nee idea what those numbers look like in comparison to selling the stadium & not having to concentrate on being a landlord. Same. Although I’d imagine an England game brings in at least £1m-£2m in ticket and food sales. Based on 90,000 tickets at an average of £20 being £1.8m prior to any expenditures/adding in food and drink and hospitality. I could easily gestimate a profit of about £20m a year, based on the various matches played at Wembley over the course of a season + the other uses mentioned above.

Don’t get me wrong - it’s a very brainless thing to do and doesn’t look good at all, but lets get it into perspective a little bit and accept the FA’s judgement that the incident was not as it seems. It’s not like the FA to not take up the opportunity of handing out punishment for a player outside of the top 6 in England. Sighting this one incident as the sole reason Rafa ‘doesn’t trust him’ and is justified for playing Joselu ahead of him is ridiculous. People love writing Mitro off at any opportunity, it’s a shame people cant accept his fantastic form for what it is and the same faces who have disappeared from this thread whilst he’s been in such great form have come rushing back at the sight of this incident.
-
Based on the fact he received neither a red card or retrospective action for it, I’ll stick my neck out and say you’re wrong.
-
Seem similar calibre to me. If you can get £10-15m for Gayle and Hernandez for free, I reckon Rafa could do good with that cash. Aye, it’s a no brainer in that situation imo.
-
yet people still wonder why Rafa doesnt trust him People aren't wondering that. They're saying Rafa should've played him over Joselu. Plenty are like. "He hasnt even had a red card for 2 years!" or whatever That’ll be because he hasn’t. He’s also not been suspended retrospectively for the above incident - yet Cahil has been for his elbow. If the incident was as bad as it looks, I’d suspect that Cahill/Millwall would have pointed to the Mitro incident and questioned why he hasn’t been retrospectively banned. As others have said, it’s difficult to see the full extent of it without another angle. Cahill made absolutely nothing of it either (didn’t even go down injured at time IIRC), so maybe it’s nowhere near as bad as it looks.

Video Assistant Referees (VAR)

Spot on. Another reason (added to the many in this thread already) why VAR should never come in. -
