It was Bruce Lee who said: "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times".
And now he's dead.
Just one experienced CB for me, doesnt have to break the bank, just someone we can rely on to be average rather than gambling on Lascelles/Mbemba/Hanley stepping up. Shawcross would be perfect.
Leicester won the League doing it last season. Like any formation there are pro's and cons and they go in and out of fashion, for want of a better word.
I mean it's not my definition of an arselicker if he genuinely believes what he says about Ashley, more if he's purely saying it to keep his job/suck up to him. Who knows his personal thoughts about him.
I mean ultimately the Ashley and football opinions stuff is secondary, it would be great if he wasn't like that but it doesn't define him as a man, the way he treats people does and he seems to be impeccable when it comes to that.
There was a stat though that when he played instead of Hayden we won 11 in a row or something. Obviously doesn't mean he's the better player, far more going on than that.
Would rather just move on. Wouldn't be confident in him starting next season even if he's doing pretty well in France (I haven't seen any of his games this year fwiw).
Barry was a very good player, never anywhere near Alonso levels obviously but after the 2010 wc some people talked about him like he was absolutely useless.
I just think the balance of what's wanted by people of a left back is skewed a little too heavily on being good on the ball vs being solid defensively.
Both are important but I think what Dummett's good at is taken a little bit for granted by some. Really nice to have someone solid in the air over there especially.
