  1. Heard they're really getting behind him though and he's generally been playing very well, that aside. Again it's just what I've heard/read on podcasts/newspapers, not seen any of him.
  2. The Pardew effect was definitely overegged. A decent manager after him would have sorted us out after 6 months and a window. It's more the Ashley effect. Bizzarre in a way (but understandable because he obviously gets more media coverage) how Pardew gets slated and hated every week/day but you barely see a post a week about Ashley now. He was the one that set the agenda for the club. Pardew was just a willing schmuck who needed a job and was happy to do/say anything to keep it.
  3. Lost 5 of 11 too. Best league in the world I don't understand the logic in this post. Weird.
  4. doing well there too by all accounts
  5. High school i went to was about 90% leeds fans, around the time they were in Champions League and stuff. They were way more arrogant and pigheaded than any of the Man Utd or Liverpool glory hunters. Will be glad to do them.
  6. Yup, anyone can still be dragged in/pull out of it. People were starting to think Hughes was in deep trouble recently. Dyche proving he's very competent again so far.
  7. Monk might well pass them on the way up.
  8. Before someone jumps down my throat I realise it wasn't just based on one game, but that performance definitely massively inflated his price to quite a ridiculous degree. If he hadn't gone to the euros I think 17-20m would have been seen as fair.
  9. He was good in the final, not like a dominating world class performance but good. But you wouldn't buy someone because of one game for £30m unless you were a lunatic.
  10. So even with too much money in the game you wouldn't pay £3m for him. Let's ask Spurs if they'd like a £27m rebate then, that's money we'd never have had if it was up to the likes of you. I'm saying if I was a manager or club owner I would never look at Sissoko and think hmmm... lets drop 30m on the f***er. Even if I had billions and billions. And that's because he's f***ing s***, seriously s***. Alan Smith level of s***. As for how much we got for him, thanks Mr Levy and please Mr Ashley, spend it on the team to help us go up/not get relegated anytime soon. What's £3m in today's market anyway? I think I'd pay you that much just to shut up about the money at this point. You still don't grasp it do you... Grasp what? That everything isn't black or white? Do you think I'm blind that I can't see Payet has 10x the end product that Sissoko does? Individual talent isn't everything in the game. Managers sometimes want different attributes and Sissoko has some that Payet doesn't, that's why he is still playing for France, and it's why some of the premier's best rated managers over the last couple of years have chased his signature even to the daft tune of £30m. He's strong, works back, and does a good job at bringing the ball out at pace. It probably won't sit well with some fans, but he uses the ball intelligently as well. FWIW I've never claimed he's a world beater, it's you that's claimed he's s***. Only one talking hyperbole here is you.
  11. And not that James Rodriguez is a bad player by any means, but the same with him at the world cup.
  12. Senegal 2002 comes to mind.
  13. Keep until summer then replace. He has and will continue to be useful this season.
  14. If we're being honest those are the games which will probably attract most viewers. Does suck though.
  15. Yup, see how the results go until Jan and barring any shocks keep the powder dry unless some great opportunity presents itself.
  16. Really big opputunity for him now then. Needs to stake a real claim with at least an 8/10er and not do anything daft.
  17. How's this guy doing btw? Haven't really followed Watford at all?

He obviously knows how to run a football club, you don't have that many years of success at Everton as a fluke. So the comments about him being clueless or whatever are a bit rich sometimes. It just depends wether the different circumstances of starting again at a new club where he doesn't hold a fifth of the gravitas he did at Everton means his style just doesn't work.

What Moyes achieved at Everton can't ever be taken away from him, he did a great job for many years. Would love to read a properly honest and revealing autobiography from him about where he thinks it's gone wrong if he gets fired and gives up football soon. Maybe just the time he was at Everton and his control there gave him a respect from the players that he just hasn't had since.
  20. He's not glamorous but yeah, he's easily good enough for this division and was at least fine last year.
