Based on absolutely no evidence whatsoever. Alternatively, I look at a player who was likely told we wouldn't stand in his way if he wanted to make the next step. As has been the case with transfers for years under Ashley. And then he had to play for clueless Steve McClaren. None of our players looked up for it last season and I can't say I blame them either. He's a very good player who will probably do very well in a much better squad under a better manager (and I'm talking McClaren, not Rafa). Fair points. I, for one, was more excited about his signing than any other in recent years, and at times took great pleasure from watching him play. His failure to make a difference/or even bust a gut in important potential relegation-saving games was hugely disappointing but I don't buy into the whole coward 'meme'. Expect him to do well at Anfield (no pun...) but quite frankly don't really care one way or the other.

Tom Selleck's Janmaat's shirt: Hoots mon, d'ye no ken top scoatesh banter? "It's lovely, isn't it!" Ah fair pished me breeks!

No worries Sels will pick-up the ball...

Is Lawrie Makem-enemy still alive? Good shout for director of football: "Geordie boys, taking them down..."
-
I would feel more confident if we picked-up either: (a) an experienced striker, good enough for now; or (b) a 'punching above our weight' young potential worldy, who may set the Chamiponship alight, or can be developed to be a regular starter next season. If Sissoko and Janmaat go, then along with the dosh from GW, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rafa pull off the latter. That said, he will know by now if he has enough firepower, and in Don Rafa we trust.

Significantly longer than them ending-up with underage fellatio behind a take away.... [edit] sorry that was harsh on the youth and some of the adults on Weirdside: Significantly longer than many of them ending-up pursuing underage fellatio behind a take away. (Always try to be fair to our geographically disadvantaged cousins).

Oh no, he's not long for this life... we're doomed!

This. But it's good business and Klopp will make sure he works!
-
Bumped into him in a motorway services toilet once (nowhere near hard enough...). He's hung like a whippet (allegedly...).

Thank f*** for that. If they're not careful, the club make us all fall in love with them again.
-
What a stinker! Hope this applies to the game not the player.

I really, really, hope it wasn't...

Congratulations Sam Allardyce (that spelling doesn't look right, only called him Hippo Heed for years!) and a heart felt thank you. You've relieved my international angst: England win - fine; England lose - fine. I know we should rise above it, not be pulled down into the Makem's valueless sewer, but with Sunderland's recent braggartry, adolescent plane and banner shit, and general preoccupation with our relegation pain (imaginary or real) this has cheered me right up. Let's see who everyone's second team can attract to their premiership side, they're in the top/elite/PREMIER division don't you know? Good luck Sam, personally I forgive you for the uninspiring and frankly demoralising 8 months with us. Well, actually iirc the first couple of months were canny. Half a year of pap...pah! Small change in comparison to the riches you've now bestowed

Think you might be doing Cack a disservice, on my PC looked more like Lukas from Minecraft... http://stacyplays.wikia.com/wiki/Lukas

35.% think he looks like a normal human being. Careful chaps, our homo sapiens species memory tells us that they're tricky bar-stewards these neanderthals. Played dead/pretended to be extinct eons ago, but look; look closely. Wide mid-face, huge beak for warming cold air, robust mandible, fat heed... They've obviously just been hiding out in sweaty-sock-land. It's good news by the way, legend has it they're ideal as a centre half! http://i4.dailyrecord.co.uk/incoming/article6579900.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/JS73805228.jpg http://humanorigins.si.edu/sites/default/files/styles/full_width/public/images/square/neanderthalensis_JG_Recon_Head_CC_3qtr_lt_sq.jpg?itok=EgaWz9y-

Well, there aren't gaps/missing bits which is something. But the back of his Tibia (as far as I can tell) looks like a jigsaw puzzle. Hope he's invested wisely: that would be an impressive come back for a 30 something.

Nice one That pose lends itself to Don Diego de la Vega. A man you don't meet everyday, with the swagger and gravitas worthy of our own Don Rafa de la Benitez. If only I had the requisite skills... https://www.reference.com/art-literature/zorro-s-real-name-6eefb41c9690a19b

Ahhh man, McClaren Island as the Mak'em manager... even the thought of it being a possibility makes me want to start to campaign for: "Fat Sam's Eng-land, 'ill score easy" (Bugsy Malone, btw).

internal and possibly external metalwork- the healing pain after that is absolutely unbearable- like ouyr leg is being crushed in a massive vice. I had the same injury; well it looked the same, at least. Oddly enough, it was the look of it which immediately was the most traumatising part and now looking looking back upon it is the part which still produces a strong visceral reaction, pure disgust: seeing your leg flopping around, at a right angle, is just not right. I'll skim over the 10 months in the middle. Plate on fibula, external fixator on tibia; immobile for three months, no joy. Plate off fibula, ex-fix off, bone graft and Ilizarov frame (...think half a dozen knitting needles through your leg and a bolt screwed into your tibia all meccano-ed up to three 12 inch diameter metal hula hoops). Demba will get the best advice and will have good healing potential: healthy bone and still comfortably the right side of 40. Hopefully for him the breaks aren't as messy as they look, and as mine were. Main problem for me (well once there was evidence of growth...some helpful fuckwit surgeon did warn me, 6 months in, to get used to the idea that it may not heal and amputation would be a solution--where do they find these people?) was an unseen hairline fracture down into the ankle joint, which was made worse/re-broken through rehab physio for the tib/fib break (going hell for leather on the fecking trampolines...). Fingers crossed for the lad; point taken re 'a just world', but personally, I wouldn't wish the uncertainty, immobility, and pain on anyone. Well, tbh, maybe Dennis Wise... ok, and a few others. But not Demba Ba. Hope he recovers; and plays again (I haven't).

Bohemian FC 0-6 Newcastle United - Saturday 16th July 2pm

"Tobin" (...to be sure) "Guof ran ran" Sounds like a brilliant occasion. I want to go to Belgium now. When we sing 'Take me home...' (Back in the birth place of the song, possibly) people will think we're unoriginal/doing a Euro chant. Anyone going? Brussels looks a close airport. Though flight times aren't great. -
I like the idea, would be a great leveller. Somewhat scuppered by (I imagine) a far greater range of players available from other leagues, who might not want to join our 'swapsies only' party.

... hang on, paper cut to penis. Wears specs... is that what 'book wanker ' means?!
