Our early season form wasn’t that bad tbf, given who we were playing; overall we pretty much picked up the points that you realistically would hope for. It was November and December results which got us in deep doo-doo.

Have you not heard? They are notoriously as hard as Darren Bent’s mother’s feet.

Was just thinking the same, at least about the hilarity of us playing away to Burton. Wish I could find the quotes. Now they are cut adrift with Burton and can look forward to Scunthorpe and MK Dons. They won’t even be the ‘biggest’ team in League One, surprisingly there are others who have made the shameful slide, with better recent records.

I recall Ben Arfa having plenty of detractors, who hated Ginola and Robert?? Who are these old timers you speak of, young man? Who specifically? Just people I sat next to and/or met. It was always about them not tracking back or being lazy. Hindsight's a wonderful thing where Ginola's concerned, like. He was booed when he came back to St James' Park, presumably by the same knackers, but that seems to have all been forgotten and he's now rightly remembered fondly. Fair enough. It’s all about memory and perspective; both hazy at the best of times. Don’t personally recall Ginola getting any stick, where I was or in my company. Robert on occasion would be reminded to get on his bike towards our goal. To say they were hated isn’t accurate. I can recall a ‘sweary-stupido’ road sweeper who sat near me who used to rant ‘track back’ (and other choice advice) at Robert. But he would tell you he loved him and he was far from an old timer (early 20s)... guess he might be an old timer now.

Whilst I want the best for him, it might not be the worst thing for us that Southgate doesn’t seem to fancy him.

"It's good, but it's not right" I wonder on what criteria Sunderland could be validly considered a better city to live in than Newcastle? Distance the beach/sea? That’s all I can come up with.

Loftus-Cheek could be a really top class player, would love to have him here. Not convinced by Tammy ‘the entourage’ Abraham yet. Would rather go for a safer bet at striker, if we can stump-up for one. Such a crucial position and we have felt the absence of the kind of clinical finishing you’d expect at this level.

Not too shabby. If he summons-up a liking for fish and chips and a random after the whistle kung fu kick on a goalkeeper, he might become my favourite Brazilian.

13 games in 2018. Won 5 Drew 5 Lost 3. The losses, all away, to Man City, Chelsea, & Liverpool. Makes us look a decent team. Scored 16 Conceded 15, detracts from that conclusion a little bit.

won't be mentioned by the usual shitsippers but it really is fucking incredible the job he's done Given the lack of resources he was 'given', compared to every other PL team. Come on man, credit where it's due big Mike did get him a Chelsea reserve left winger and a crocked striker. What more do you want? Fair do’s. Think I’ll stock-up on Donnay socks 2moz.

Win our game in hand and we’re 10th... time to add 2018/think I’ll remove the question mark from my list/‘personal text’?!?

Huddlesfield sound so cute, I kind of want them to stay up now.

‘Mag’ is a mackem term like, it’s so transparent it is unreal. “We are the mags, we are the mags, we are, we are...”

It’s clearly baseball they are talking about, jackass Is that the one like cricket but with a round bat, hot dogs and padded gloves so they don't hurt their little fingers. I thought NBA was the men's netball? Daftie! (Donkey?) you’re thinking of basket-the-ball. You’re right though, it is kinda like easier netball: the netball lasses can’t even move, or owt.

Shearer Spurs semi-final. Lee Chelsea semi final (same comp, different reasons). Albert (obvious reasons). Asprilla vs Barca (either, of headers).

Didn’t realise rugby with shoulder pads produced so much aggression in fans! Flipping heck. Edit: oops, forgot to mention all the helmets (no offence...).

I've noticed it on twitter as well. All the 6 in a row shite theyre coming out with, it's finally dawned on them theyre going down again and are completely fucked so all the hatred is pouring out of them. It's fucking glorious. I shall shower in their hate juice. Is that a very, very early Smiths tune?

I’ll do my bit for your cause: I know it's over And it never really began But in my heart it was so real And then Stokoe spoke to me, and said : "If you're such a big club Then why’s the stadium empty tonight ? And if you're so well supported Then why’s the stadium empty tonight ? If you're so very entertaining Then why’s the stadium empty tonight ? If you’ve so many football-friends Then why’s does nobody seem to give a shee-ite?” I know... 'Cause tonight is just like any other night Then why’s the stadium empty tonight With no triumphs and no charms While they toast you in the Newcastle Arms..." It's so easy to laugh It's so easy to hate It takes strength to be gentle and kind f*** that. It’s over, over, over, over... Here’s the tune, if needed.
