  1. Gayle would only go for what was perceived to be a significant upgrade/'guaranteed' starter (some young would be superstar on loan... I'll have Rashford please ).
  2. And there's me thinking he's just taken the huff because we're giving Das Bost no.9.
  3. Tom Downs returns. Ha! Loved watching the the full match knowing the outcome. Couple of observations, Mbemba gave the ball away too many times/more than anyone. Rafa won't like that. Perez' effort was first class and some lovely touches, but we really need an upgrade in that position. Feel bad saying so after one of his better performances and assist but final ball was just not good enough. Liked Manquillo's contribution. It was clear WH were targeting Mbemba's side, but Manquillo in the main did what he had to do very effectively. Oh, and delighted to see Ritchie back in top form; what a game he had.

    Isaac Hayden

Merino was very good on the ball but a lot of the freedom he got to express himself was down to the work done by Hayden, excellent today Yep. Does the easy to overlook dirty work very well. Closes down, cuts out angles, as well making/finding space in busy areas. Great attitude/sound lad as well
  5. Lejeune could be even better, look forward to them being a partnership sincerely hope so.
  6. Deserves a song. Good though it is, the Mbemba one isn't accurate. Clark's our best defender.
  7. Even looks like him a tad Wor Mik... The Basque Geordie http://assets1.lfcimages.com/uploads/25_rkennedy_500.jpg
  8. Captain Sensible... Funny.
  9. Their form places them pretty much on track for mid-table mediocrity. Should win their next game. Starts to look bleak (confidence wise mainly etc) if they don't.
  10. Get in, cheers for that, just got in so wasn't aware. That's me sorted for the rest of the night. Fantastic and thank you Gods of chaos/footy; we all so needed that.
  11. I know, but a bit self-defeating of Rafa taking three points and off his new project...
  12. Eh? They've just scored a 97th minute winner for a game they'd have left at 4am to watch. They not allowed to celebrate like? Did I say they weren't allowed to celebrate? This "omg they're celebrating like they've won the world cup!!" is the absolute worst craic imagineable though. As if they're supposed to tone down how much they enjoy a last minute winner. They were jumping onto the field ffs. Of course it was over the top. No one's denying their right to celebrate, settle down. So what? Let's lose our s*** because we barely squeaked by a team we've outspent by hundreds of millions of pounds. City fans have had to put up with more shit than us if you widen the historic lens a bit. I don't feel any sour grapes re their ownership (love relaying the story/urban myth (?) that they came to Newcastle before City and fucked off over the Pennines offended at being met by monkey rather than organ grinder).
  13. King looked like a top player and full of 'fuck you/don't care who you are' type confidence you want in a forward. What an improvement he could have made to our team. We would have loved him.
  14. Man's a tactical genius and well into having an aerial threat...
  15. Chicarito would have been perfect for us/how we now play. Bound to score (hoping to double jinx).
  16. Looking at WHU line-up makes me more optimistic than I have felt at any time this week. Really need high tempo and getting at them from the off to lift the (no doubt nervous) crowd.
  17. Yep. But wait until Zaba is knackered and then let loose the legs!
  18. Poor game from DeFoe. Wonder if he's eventually shot his bolt?
  19. Some of City's play is a real pleasure to watch. With the occasional exception of Sterling! So frustrating at times.
  20. Now just known as Hairy and Baldy.
