Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
Jaqen replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
I think because Bruno likes to push on a fair bit more than a traditional 6 you need a more defensive minded player in the three alongside him like Longstaff. He does the job of covering for Trippier quite a bit too allowing him to bomb on, similar to how Liverpool used to use Henderson to drop in and cover for Trent. I think we'll be looking to sign a 6 and move Bruno into the Longstaff position personally. I reckon that would give the best balance with either of the Joe's on the left of the three depending on the opposition. I ri think -
I don't think we've been figured or found out like a few keep suggesting. We dominated an away game for 90 minutes and had 16 efforts at goal. Eddie will make a few tweaks and Isak and ASM will get a lot more game time I'm sure but we aren't going to have a change in system when we are third in the league and 15 unbeaten For context City didn't even have an effort on target against Southampton, the worst side in the league. Man U just drew with Palace away this week as well with De Gea having to make 5 saves v Pope's 1. We've been in top 4 form for 12 months straight now with the weakest squad out of the top 7. There's a fair chance Eddie knows what he's doing more than us.

They can't ask for £50m when he's on the bench for one of the worst sides in the league. They missed their chance with Chelsea, nobody is offering that for him again anytime soon.
-
Dominated and controlled the game just a bit toothless upfront. Need to give ASM a run of starts now I think.
-
Ward absolutely relieved to be going off there
-
They look so weak defensively on their right side. Leeds were the same and we never capitalised on it.
-
State of those lineups had to double check it wasn't a cup game there.
-
You'd want a Maddison type player for £50m really. Especially when looking for someone to impact the remainder of the season. Gordon could be shaped into a decent player but he's horribly out of form and is extremely raw at his best.
-
Get in Eddie in for the next game of traitors.

Love how much dancing winds up the bootcut brigade too

Sterling as well. Going back a few years ago there's Matic, Mata, Cech, Luiz, Giroud, Van Persie etc. I could see them becoming more common though as with the wages they pay it's going to be hard to shift alot of them abroad unless the players are willing to take big pay cuts.
-
Never seen a winger so scared to try and beat a fullback as Antony. Wanted to Man U to lose and was still getting frustrated watching him just slow down play and play to back everytime he had the ball in a good position
-
Ziyech's definitely good enough he's just a nightmare to try and manage.
-
That's one of the most mental posts I've seen on any forum and I've read RTG.

It was the same when Pardew finished 5th or when Bruce finished the same as Rafa. People just pointing to the league position and saying we have to give them credit. It's just a way too simplistic way of looking at things. He did contribute of course just not nearly as much as some people want to make out. Individually he's been pretty poor most games. Seems a good character and does work hard but people trying to claim he transformed us into a good team and he's any reason we are third are bonkers.
-
I mean the argument we'd have been relegated without Wood (if you believe that) only really works on the basis that we'd have been relegated without a striker and he was the only possible striker we could have signed. His general play was really poor. Barely any goal threat, slow and sluggish, struggled to win headers and with hold up play. He contributed more defensively and pressed fairly well more than anything he offered going forward. Eddie, Joelintons transformation, singing a world class centre midfielder and rightback along with two defenders that never really put a foot wrong played a bigger part in us staying up than Wood. Worrying about his fee is abit pointless anyway, we've obviously overpaid loads but it was a desperation signing that we aren't going to repeat and £25m is nowt in the long run. He seems a nice lad but shouldn't really have a future here after this season.
-
Forest were being linked with him yesterday.
-
Aye his price is a bit inflated due to the World Cup. Funnily enough Lautaro Martínez was going to be the one they wanted to cash in on big and he's probably one of the only players ever to have won the world cup and have their value drop, he was that bad
-
Thought he was overpriced when it was rumoured around £50m
-
McTominay isn't as bad as made out imo.
-
Gallagher would be quality. He's ready made to slot straight into our midfield.
-
Finishing top 4 definitely speeds up the process by a couple of years to what I was expecting and the better option for the club. Would be shite for Liverpool or spurs to sneak in with how bad they've been as well. Would love for this specific set of players to win a trophy though. You can't really ask for a more likeable squad and manager. Having a couple of local lads in the side as well as beating Man United. It would be perfect.
-
Just need to add in 'Hoewe needs questioned with his tactics and lineup'. Wanting to have a team with ambition that tries has quickly become demanding a team that is perfect at all times and convincingly wins every game for some
-
Think Rice will stay and try and keep West Ham up then leave in the summer.
