We'd have been very close to that this season imo if we had a striker and not Wood playing for half the games. It's not a huge step up from were we are at at the moment. Southgate has done a really good job off the pitch, don't think anyone can deny that. Man u have spent 1bn recently with not much success. We will have to deal with FFP anyway but regardless of the restrictions to our spending it's a lot harder to bit your way to the top now than it was for City and Chelsea. City are at the top and can afford to splash our 100m on Grealish to be their 6th best attacker. That's probably 2/3 of our whole summer budget. We are quite a way off as things stand. Bridging the gap to Europa League sides is one thing but to elite it's a huge step.

Milan are miles ahead of us, like. Got one of the youngest squads in the league who'll they'll be able to keep ahold of and add too. With Inter being their nearest rivals with the oldest squad in the league there's a good chance Milan could be the dominant team in Italy for the next few years. At the Evey least they'll be challenging for titles and playing Champions League. It's hard to say how long it will be before we can offer players Champions League football never mind competing for trophies. Unless we can offer stupid wages it's pretty understandable if players don't want to be in that first wave of signings.

Most journos seem to think a Striker, right wing and CB are our top three priorities this summer so that's probably the three we'll spend the bulk of our budget on. The fact we're so heavily linked to Lodi and Henderson suggests we'll still be spending a decent amount elsewhere too. We'd have Tragett signed already if we were running on a limited budget. We'll go big this summer there's no need to worry about that.
