He's improved pretty much every player we have since he got here so there's little to suggest he won't be able to improve Maxi once we bring in proper attacking options around him and setup to play like he wants.

Really pleased for him. He's in the same bracket as Wood in that he's a hard worker and likeable but should be nowhere near the team next season.

The current Atleti defence is one of the worst they've had under Simeone. To be able to limit City to one goal over two legs was impressive. Was fairly obvious they were just trying to put themselves in a position where they could either knick something from a counter or set piece or just go for it in the 2nd half at the return leg at home. Was pretty close to working as well. The stuff about it being 'anti football' is rubbish, they had some great sequences playing it out from the back against a really well organised high pressing side. They are all mostly very good technical players.

I don't even know how I have it in the first place but found it the other week. Looking him up he had a whole career where no club ever paid a fee for him.

Atleti offer something very different to the competition comapred to he other top sides. They're great entertainment in knockout ties.

He's came in and helped keep them in the league comfortably when they looked like they where heading for a relegation scrap. I reckon he's repayed the gamble they took on him.

It's been great in recent years as none of the top sides other than Atleti can really defend well. Combination of fullbacks becoming more and more attacking and there semmingly only being a handful of reliable CBs in world football has made for a much better spectacle.
