Trippier said he didn't get sold on anything, wanted a move back to England and preferably the north before we were even in for him.
-
The abuse he gets is a bit over the top, like Aye he might be a bit cringey at times but most of us were knackers at his age. Fair play to him for putting himself out there, taking the abuse that comes with it and getting to do something he loves full time.
-
Think he's better than he's given credit for. Hard to say exactly how good he is with his feet when he's instructed to launch it long every time he gets it at Burnley.
-
Wood has been about as useless as you could be for an attacker for the last 6 months and got nothing but love from the fans. Tripper has said it's the best experience he's had as a player, playing Infront of the SJP crowd. But aye the fans will all suddenly try and hound out the big money summer signings.

He's got a few haters but none of them would take it that far I don't think.

Oh, don't you know?

Find it more depressing than watching Bruce's Newcastle now to be honest. Similar to Ole at Man United really. Everyone knows he's not good enough in terms of tactics and in game management but because he's sorted the dressing room atmosphere out and is a nice guy he should keep getting another crack at it. Sometimes you have to be ruthless in football. After the Euro's we should have thanked him for the job he's done and looked for a replacement if we were serious about winning the World Cup.

https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/players/pierre-emile-hojbjerg-tottenham-conte-24163904 Good article on him there.

Hojbjerg is a massive improvement over Shlevey, like. Great character and commitment, really good engine and fitness levels and does a very solid job of breaking up play and keeping it simple. Just absolutely bossed the France midfield last week.

Fans are just as bad if not worse, so many really demanding and impatient during a transfer window. The positive is the injury isn't as bad as appeared and it's not putting us off from trying to complete the deal still.
-
He's undoubtedly had a poor career in relation to his talent, like. Was more talented than Benzema when they came throught together. One has won 5 champions leagues and more than likely to win ballon d'or this year whilst the other doesn't even have a club. As much as I like him he will go down as one of the biggest waste of talents in football.
-
Yup. He's really useful for reliable info, might not break a whole lot of stories but it's accurate stuff consolidated into one place.
-
Seems to be the case for most nations though isn't it? Majority of the best attackers recently have been wide forwards or attacking midfielders.

To be fair I've defended Southgate the whole times he's been manager but the whole final and semi final argument is the same as Bruce finishing the same as Rafa or Pardew getting us 5th defence. It doesn't tell the whole story. Beating most of the teams we should beat means he's done a much better job than his predecessors already by default. I think you can think Southgate has done a good job but probably isn't good enough to take us to the next step though. I don't think he's capable of beating three decent teams in a row like Mancini did with Italy for example and that's what it might take at the next World Cup, we'll sure not get as easy a run as we've had last two times. I agree though France, Portugal and Belgium in particular standout as having managers who aren't very good and a bit too negative as well. So in that sense we aren't at a big disadvantage with Southgate. I disagree about all the other teams having such a wealth of talent to pick from though. Other than France we easily have the strongest squad in Europe. Our bench players are better than most teams starters. Think having a fair few players with not a lot of big game experience played a part too, mind. A lot of them aren't Champions League regulars or have much experience of winning things. As soon as we took the lead against Italy it looked like they shit themselves.

Shearer. Brother loved Ferdinand and went as him on fancy dress day at school, which wasn't great looking back on it.
-
I don't think it's the best England team in our lifetime but I think there's a good argument to be made that this is the strongest we've been relative to the other top nations. Final and Semi final in the last two tournaments sounds great but beating a poor Germany side has been our best result and performance really. Lost to Belgium twice, Croatia and an Italy side that couldn't even make the World Cup. We've got probably around 1b's worth of attacking and midfield options in the squad to work with yet we setup like we're plucky underdogs and always more worried about the opposition.

For around 50m, Paqueta seems like he'd be by far the most transformative signing out of any of the others we are linked to.
-
He is a midfielder, it's only at city he's played left back really.

Rhythm is a dancer Botman is the answer Try and pass him if you dare He gave Milan the finger He'd rather play with Trippier He's pure lethal in the air

There's a weird obsession with people wanting to believe 'ITK's' I guess that's why they become so big on Twitter and many people go down that route. He can come in and post the most vague of things like 'Soon' or 'expect something' and loads of people start freaking out. He could post the exact team sheets before any of the media had it but would 'blow his cover' if he named Targett as a signing if he knew about it. Howay man
-
Strange that Liverpool want him if he's as bad as people keep claiming him to be. I thought he looked good against them in the Champions league mind.
-
Looks canny to be fair. Shame that the quality is so bad on Castore products though.
-
If he looked any shorter of time they'd be calling him Mount Rushmore.
