  1. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/jan/14/west-ham-striker-signings-graham-potter It is a real shame Wilson is injured - he seems to be the definition of a West Ham signing and they look desperate this window.
  2. This. Why are people finding this so hard to understand . We obviously agreed to let him go to Saudi which is probably life changing money. We’ve now gone back on our word on that for obvious reasons. Yes technically the legal position doesn’t reflect that but we’ve decided to give him a small amount of compensation to reflect the fact he’s given up that opportunity and to keep him happy and performing well in an important position where we have an injury prone first choice and a Greek third choice who isn’t trusted by anyone at Nottingham Forest or here and so clearly isn't a viable alternative.
  3. Wasn't even our best goal in the game man
  4. Because it’s a terrible suggestion Why would we agree to pay all of his remaining wages when we can still get a championship club to at least cover a portion in his final year? As Pompey are doing right now?
  5. An actual transfer!!!
  6. We have Wolves a few days after where Schar will be starting. Why risk him playing in this?
  7. Yes it would if the transfer is effective 1 July 2025. Just like Hall's transfer which fell into this year's accounts.
  8. They sold Alvarez for 85m in the summer without signing a replacement.
  9. I agree with the first paragraph but the second paragraph is a bit odd. Bruno is one of the most press-resistant players in the league. Tonali gives the ball away more than him.
  10. I don’t understand this we don’t have a right flank.
  11. Massive flick on by Botman for the goal as well!
  12. Willock needs to get in this game asap
  13. I wouldn't be against a 1 year extension but if we actually are being offered 6 million for him we'd be mad to turn it down.
  14. I don't think it will be pretty tonight. No Schar or Bruno for us means our passing ability will suffer and we'll likely want to shut it down for a draw anyway.

    Tosin Adarabioyo

Despite Chelsea having no fit CBs, was still benched at the weekend in favour of a 18yr old academy graduate with one appearance for the first team. Delighted its all worked out for him.
  16. Yeah I agree tbh, seems very unlikely.

    Dan Burn

Agree to disagree, I think it’s clear the ball hits him below his armpit from both the stills and the video and his arm is still extended away from his body.
  18. Not true at all. He left because Man United were in Europe, had a lot more games to play and he’d been told he was going to be their cup goalkeeper. He’s said the same himself.
  19. I love how some players who want to play football are treated as ‘spitting their dummy out’ for wanting to leave because it inconveniences us, and yet we castigate the likes of Almiron and Fraser for being happy to sit on the bench and not also wanting to leave to play football
  20. Or we somehow persuade Brentford to take the £50m in the summer instead and a loan until then. Would solve our FFP issues and Brentford are so well run it probably doesn’t make too much difference whether they receive the money in this PSR window or the next.

    Dan Burn

Well yes, by the letter of the law it is. Hence why the ref gave it.

So again it shows it hitting him on the upper arm and not the shoulder? Ffs

    Will Osula

This. It was an incredibly tight last 10 and the last thing you want is a raw striker giving the ball away in dangerous positions. Is it that hard to understand why Howe might trust Willock more?

    Dan Burn

It proves it didn't hit him on the shoulder like you suggested I have seen the replay several times, you don't need to deny obvious facts just because he's a Newcastle player. There's a separate question as to whether his hand is in a 'natural position' or not, but it quite clearly hits him on the upper arm.
