  1. “I’m not thick. I know this club is going to evolve and go only one way. But while I’m here, I just need to keep progressing, get the manager to get the best out of me & me repay that with performances. Hopefully I can be here for a good few years. I want to show the club that I warrant a couple more years." Really like Shelvey, he's played an important part of the team over the last 7 years and I wish him all the best at Forest
  2. Sitting at my work desk following this thread is not great for the nerves or productivity

Australia's biggest issue is that there's too many influential people that are invested in football not succeeding here in a professional capacity. While we had a brilliant world cup run, I'll be the first to admit I was completely won't with my expectations on how I thought we would perform. It still does nowhere near enough to help drive the standing of the game up here. The hope that after the 2006 qualification by our golden generation that the generation should be arising now would be better. But the league is short cash, making decisions not in there next interest of the fans, there's a disjoint between our semi professional leagues and top flight and the investment into youth is inconsistent at best. Until these are fixed our attendances will continue to languish and we won't get the quantity or quality of players that we need. Whether I like it or not, heading to hearts is an improvement for him and will give him a much improved chance of success then if he had stayed on loan at central coast.
  4. Gallagher would be a great signing, another young player with bags of potential that can grow with the club

Don't underestimate the A League, I reckon we may have dropped further since then
  6. The bottom of the table is filled with so much shit that it may be enough to save them, if I was another team down there I'd be concerned about this appointment, if I was an everton fan I'd still not feel comfortable about staying up. Will be interesting to watch how the relegation unfol
  7. I like Dyche so I hope he doesn't go there. If they could convince Ange to leave Celtic and gave him the time they need to rebuild in the championship next year, I think he would get them straight back up playing good football. I don't think he would gamble his reputation though on a club going down when he should have a pretty wide array of choices next season
  8. Hope he does the Murphy wave as he walks out of their club for the last time
  9. Can't say I was excited by the prospect of Gordon, especially when Maddison seemed like the first choice. But I trust our recruitment process, and if he's who they want, there must be a reason for it. He's a promising young player, getting no game time in a team that's in a relegation battle, while good club is currently a complete cluster fuck and over valuing him, can't say i'd blame him for feeling disillusioned there right now.
  10. Should never have underestimated Spurs ability to completely bottle it
  11. Can't see city pulling this back they look mentally not in the game at all
  12. Grew up just watching Alan Shearer goals on repeat, wanted to emulate his style of play, and so just got into a habit of watching Newcastle games. Then at 15, first time I got snuck into a pub with some older mates, Newcastle vs Spurs when, Robert got a brace and got suckered right in there.
  13. Getting rid of Lascelles at the moment would make no sense, finding a better player to sit on the bench, while also providing the leadership he has. As far as the wolves interest goes, adding some proper leadership to their dressing room right now would massive and could be the difference between relegation and survival
  14. Really debating whether I should get try and fly over for the final, how hard are tickets likely to be to get, flights from Australia aren't the cheapest at the minute and would be just my luck to fly in and not get to the game
  15. Can't watch the game and this thread is a roller coaster, are we no longer shit?
  16. I think by the time the season is done we will miss out on top 4, and there will be elements calling it a go failure that Howe needs to answer for. But we lack the depth to properly go for it, couple of injuries in the midfield or defense and we will see the drop in quality in the squad again. Making Europe at any level will be brilliant though, increased quality of sponsors that will jump on the bandwagon, more appeal for players to join us. The club will be aware that the squad will need alot of improvement to compete ok all fronts and I feel will go through with it as well. It's really such an exciting time for the club.
  17. Such right fixture congestion this week, playing a full strength yeah 3 times in a row would burn players out but next weekend. I'm alright with dropping out of the FA cup so we can focus on the remaining 2 competitions. We just don't have the depth in the squad yet to focus on all fronts, and if we get Europe next year this can be shown as an example why we need more quality bodies in.
  18. I know it's still early days, but 2 points between 13th and 18th, going to be some nervous clubs and I'm glad we're not one of them
  19. Imagine being told 18 months ago a team with Willock, Longstaff, Joelinton, Miggy, Pope, Burn and Wood would be sitting 2nd on the table.
  20. Watching Miggy's goal, as Bruno crosses the ball, Trippier is pointing for Miggy to get on his bike and go, before he's even controlled the ball. There's just that natural intelligence to know what to do next and start that movement off, such a class player
  21. I keep thinking this purple patch of his will end, but just looking at his movement and touch, this isn't just a bit of luck for him, having players that can play to his strengths like Bruno makes such a difference. Absolutely love him and his enthusiasm
  22. If we were sitting 7th-10th I think I'd be ok with a few future prospects, sitting in 3rd with a chance to get into the top 4 this year, I think it would be daft not to try and make a proper go for it with 1 or 2 statement signings.
