With the terribly selective way the history of imperial Japan in the early 20th century to end of WWII is taught in Japan itself I'm not surprised no connection had been drawn before that was made.

Forest (H) will be on Sunday 5th as they’re in the Conference League the Thursday before.

I know and I’ll be asking again, but it was hard enough last season.
-
Get the ticket board sorted out so I can beg for my seasonal 2/3 away tickets. @SteV

Spurs at home is as well tbf. So’s Palace but they don’t bring any fans up hardly anyway.
-
Hope it’s better than the last time we played them on a 4.30pm slot on the bank holiday in August.

Man City reduce ticket prices by 43% on the lowest priced tickets and 22% on the highest. Good to see and shows what can be done when fans get together. Our lot would probably be fuming at this as they believe it’ll hamper any deal for Joao Pedro.

We’ve only been away from home in the PL on the opening day once in the last 10 seasons. And it was during COVID. Hyem on Boxing Day and final day please.

I was probably just a tad too young to fully appreciate the role that Pardew played in the destruction of expectation et al (I'd just turned 14 when he left for Palace ) making Bruce my most hated manager by some way. But as time has allowed there's been a bit of revisionism about him and all of it flat out wrong. Pardew's shtick throughout 2012-13 scarred many of our fans and Ashley. After every shit result, performance, defeat and/or injury he'd blame it on the Europa League when was more than happy to only bring in Amalfitano and Anita in the summer before he started to do the 'its cuz of yewrup' to cover his own arse.* Many of our fans bought it and I think still do, in seasons gone by a few of our fans have said how they don't want Europa League or Conference League: Champions League or nothing so nothing is fine, and imo its due to those tropes and it all stems from Pardew and that season. Think also that Ashley bought it hence why we never overly strengthened in January from a moderate position of security (like bringing in Cisse in January in 2011-12), the ambition after 2012-13 was just to float from 17th-10th as Europe to the club then just like the cups ( ) only brought a risk of injuries therefore a risk of relegation and that sweet Sports Direct advertising. *He's since brought up that the remit in summer 2012 was to keep the 2011-12 side together as the funds weren't there for improvement due to Ashley, yet would dedicate wins like the 2-0 one over Chelsea in 2013 to 'Mike'. The only half decent thing I can say about Pardew is he's never gone down the road that the likes of Souness has done after leaving here regarding NUFC being tough to manage because of the fans and expectations etc etc when he easily could've done since he's left. Shame he just couldn't be positive about the club when he was actually its fucking manager.

Not watching, remembered they were playing so checked the score.

Canny game that, like.
-
He’s absolutely finished and has contributed nothing since 2023. Daft all round if he renews.
-
He hasn’t got a prayer.
-
He wears knickers and bras.
-
Christ best team I’ve watched this season, like.
-
Parkerball suggests otherwise.

Only club that may have a chance is Wolves if they don’t replace Cunha adequately but Pereira’s done a good job there. Still think even that’s a long shot tbh.

A European away is a bucket list thing for me so an away game against someone reachable with a decent allocation so a reasonable chance of a ticket(s), pls.

Most of the showings this season even that we picked points up in before Leicester at home were quite poor and were unsustainable as the players themselves admitted, as were the majority of away performances up to then going back to the start of 23-24. Couldn’t see it improving the way it ended up doing so. Delighted to be end up being wide of the mark and looking like an absolute rectangle looking back.
