I agree. But that was the UEFA Cup/Europa League what you're saying you have great memories of. If we were to qualify for the EL we'd have a decent chance of winning that as well. When the Intertoto Cup existed it was the tier below the UEFA Cup which is what the ECL is now. Players like Shearer are on the record saying that he wasn't a fan of/believer in the competition. The ECL should be a competition for clubs outside of the top 5 leagues, and winning it gets them EL group stage.

Given we were only 9 points off of a Europa League place after giving the rest of a league a 14 game head start, I completely disagree with that. I genuinely don't know why it exists. If they wanted more teams or games then I don't know why they didn't just expand the Europa League.

Rightly or wrongly I'm with Froggy on the ECL. I don't see it as a major trophy either, for me it's on Intertoto levels. I don't even really know why it exists tbph.

He's class, when fit. But he's started 39 league games out of a possible 76 since he signed for us. If we're relying on him being the main guy next season then something will have gone wrong in the summer imo.

Those 3 games under him were grim and that first half at Brighton was one of the lowest I've felt watching us (strictly on the pitch anyway).

Under Benitez, Sissoko was made captain for the run in and played well. Wijnaldum was dropped, he only really turned up at home games that season and even then the home games from February to the end of the season he didn't even bother for bar the final one once we were already down.

Raphinha or Nkunku. Raphinha for the right sided winger we desperately need as it takes pressure off of ASM. 11 goals and 3 assists this season in that Leeds team. Nkunku as it would sort our midfield out; goalscoring midfielder and an extra threat from the middle and we can then move Bruno back into the number 6 position he played at Lyon.

Used my dad's season ticket when he couldn't go for Burnley and Leicester, they don't check. I think in the rules and FAQs on the club site it says you can give your ST to family and mates but you can't sell on bought tickets iirc.

Lage is a decent bet to go first too imo. They played well yesterday but they've been turd for ages and the player turnover there in the summer is apparently going to be quite big.
